Well I gotta say Steven, I am on the receiving end of this one, I love doing this, I get to shop for kids, and buy things that we used to buy our own kids, when life was much simpler. And while purchasing these items for our Adopted Family this year, we reminisce about when our kids were younger and how much fun we had buying Christmas presents, and the dolls for our girls, and the simple items for our son. The whole experience is rewarding for me/us. I wish I could share what we are purchasing as we do purchase, and bring you all in to the event even deeper, but in doing so we could expose the surprise element for their kids this year, so it'll have to wait till after they open their presents, then we can share what they got, and of course we'll do the traditional full disclosure financial debrief. Yes it does take time, but it truly is time that I feel blessed and honored to be a part of. And I get to do it with other peoples money! You all really came to the table this year, again, and we cannot thank you all enough, this community of woodworkers here, it's the best, it truly is. Gunny, FlGatorwood, Cal and 4 others 2 5 Quote

Popular Post John Morris Posted December 19, 2019 Author Popular Post Report Posted December 19, 2019 Folks, thank you all so much for your participation. We are heading to the close of this project, and we have raised more than our goal. Last night I Purchased the last of the gifts for the family, we do have some proceeds leftover, and there may be some straggling proceeds from folks who contribute between now and tomorrow, those monies will be sent to the family for some New Year spending money. The account will show zero left by the closing of the books, with all proceeds sent directly to the family in one form or another by gifts, or funds. I want to thank you all, my heart swells with pride for our community of woodworkers, we are a wonderful bunch here. I can not thank you enough, I know you all contributed for the family, and the awards by our sponsors are secondary, but I sure do wish everyone could be a winner of an award, yet I know in your own hearts, you have already considered yourselves winners by helping this very special family. Stay tuned for tomorrow we'll have the draw, and announce the recipients of some wonderful prizes, good luck, and I truly am very grateful for such a wonderful turn out, you all did wonderful! Popular Post John Morris Posted December 20, 2019 Author Popular Post Report Posted December 20, 2019 I am literally running out the door to get a box of goodies off to the family, when I return, we will have our spectacular drawing! The project is officially closed for further contributions that will result in name entries to the drawing, since I have that already set up and ready to go. If any contributions are made though, they will still be sent on to the family along with the remaining proceeds, for some New Year spending money. Thank you all once again! Popular Post Al B Posted December 21, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted December 21, 2019 Wow ! What can I say? I won the Laguna Bandsaw. Never expected this since I had won the Laguna $500.00 prize last year. Feeling really guilty about this, but this saw will replace the Craftsman 14" BS that I now have. I'd also like to congratulate Cliff, P toad, and Woodbutcher on their wins. Really hope the gifts will provide some joy for the family. Cal, p_toad, FlGatorwood and 3 others 6 Quote

Popular Post Gunny Posted December 21, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted December 21, 2019 Well wasn't I surprised this evening. And after I just found someone to show me how to use a plane and work around the pins in my wrist and arm. The HF special will be evicted shortly. Congrats to the other prize winners.
