March 12, 20197 yr Congratulations to you and the Mrs. there John. We passed our 46th this past December, but it is getting harder. In the sweltering heat of the 78 - 80 degrees the past few days, I did this little project from some wood the widow neighbor had. It certainly was dry and chipped easily even while sanding. A real pain to work with but most importantly, she is happy with what she received. She is going to cover them with padding and fabric. The first one looks really nice. These 2 I did this weekend and delivered them today. The long one was too long for my table so I put both on the old patio for the snapshot.

March 12, 20197 yr Not Monday but, Maybe the third tries the charm. We made it to 46°, so hopefully it's well fixing time! First try resulted in finding a crack in the 1" pipe about a foot below the well head. Repaired that only to find we couldn't get the pipes to fill for priming the pump. Second try, pulled the works, and found the rubber seal in the foot valve had folded over, and jammed the valve open. Replaced the jet kit, and upgraded the foot valve from plastic to brass, still couldn't get pipes to prime. So this morning, we pulled the works again. Couldn't see any cracks but there was water in only the bottom three sections. So we're now replacing all of the pipes below the well head. ….If this doesn't do it, it's head banging time.
March 12, 20197 yr Gollee, Larry. What a frustrating job. Wishing you the best of luck with it. Hope replacing the pipes does the trick.

Thanks Dave, If replacing the pipes hadn't worked I was going to use my head to knock the house down. Like my signature line states, I'll stop when it doesn't hurt. I should have just replaced the whole works to begin with, I sure didn't expect to find multiple failures.

Thanks Dave, What mind? I lost that long ago. Maybe one to many . What next big storm? Hopefully not snow. Now our area is in a flood warning until Friday. 58 minutes ago, Stick486 said: 'bout time... good to hear... Thanks Stick, Had to wait for a break in the weather. Either too cold, or raining.
