December 19, 20187 yr Author I know i'm changing the subject here, but i got the new cord on and plugged it in. Let it get up to 385 F and then pulled the plug. Figured that was hot enough to make sure it works. Interestingly enough, there was a small tapered wood plug in the old cord right up near the handle.
