November 21, 20187 yr Popular Post I noticed this week that the eight toms i saw in the back yard last week (all snack size) are not around. I'll be doing whatever SWMBO decides.
November 21, 20187 yr Popular Post We do a traditional dinner, turkey w/dressing, beans, corn, brussel sprouts w/bacon, baked sweet & russet potatoes, candied yams (no marshmallows). My wife bakes pumpkin pie, pumpkin rolls, apple & blueberry turnovers and nut and apricot fold overs. We put the word out at the beginning of the month for an open house and get a head count. The Christmas season kicks off after dinner with a viewing of the movie Christmas Vacation. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

November 21, 20187 yr Popular Post Not sure of the exact menu yet (except for the turkey), and won't be until it is on the table. Following my wife's knee surgery a couple weeks back her two sisters that live nearby came up with a plan to do all of the cooking. And, it will all be brought here for consumption. Looks like 10 adults and two children at the table; and some few extras that will be dropping by later to visit & have dessert and coffee, or a brew. The wife is doing very well after the knee surgery. Stitches came out yesterday and she was cleared to drive. Everyone at the rehab center and dr. office were surprised at how well she had done.

November 22, 20187 yr Popular Post Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Gonna have our dinner tomorrow. Today is just a quiet day at home.
November 23, 20187 yr Popular Post Barely made it! The feast began earlier than predicted the turkey was done at 1:30.. There wasn't as much variety due to those that have physically left us... But we had the turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes & gravy, corn, stuffing, smoky links in BBQ sauce, etc. . This I followed up with a cup of coffee, then a repeat of the above, another cup of coffee followed up with desert,... Which consisted of pumpkin pie, banana cream pie, honey glazed Danish cinnamon treats, CHEEEESE CAKE..etc. . Which I did a repeat of the deserts with another cup of coffee. Everything was great! We're now back home having another cup of coffee. The FEAST filled the BEAST, for now. Now where did the wife stash that other CHEEEESE CAKE?
November 23, 20187 yr Popular Post They didn't say anything about CHEEEESE CAKE! Edited November 23, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
November 23, 20187 yr you need to re-engineer the feast... you run out of food and you still have room for several pieces of pie to top off w/... zero left overs is a good thing...
