Yes Hahahaha I did do the conversion prior to posting. 

But anyhow ThankYou for allowing me to share, it’s been fun. 

Also if you find any information on this please let me know, would be much appreciated.

 

I will post a photo of my first restored Post Drill Press soon, it's a small bench type. I’ve also restored a “Tough” brand hand drill i really like.

Quite obvious the passion you employ doing the restoration. Great to hear the next generation appreciates it too. FWIW, print off a copy of this thread down the road, seal it in an envelope and attach it the press for it's history (as we know it) for those future generation(s). Sorta' like a time capsule...

I’m originally from Tasmania, hense my nickname Tas, the winters there can get to below 3 degrees celsius, I reside in Perth Western Australia now, it will be 39 degree tomorrow. But then expected 23 and 24 for Christmas.

It’s my pleasure sharing the Drill Press. I’ll start another thread with my first Drill Press now.

Sorry, again forget about the big blue Pacific between us...Here is rural West Central Indiana, U.S.A.; a bit over an hour Northwest of Indianapolis...our state capitol and the "Racing Capitol of the World"

Forecast for us is about the same only in Fahrenheit...I've seen it worse on Christmas Day here before...-25^o F with a foot or more of snow.

I've enjoyed the press restore but the cultural exchange just as much. Looking forward to seeing the the first press story too and just chatting about what's happening. About bedtime here so guess it's around lunch time Friday there.

Model No. 90....with auto-feed.  The one on the left.    One on the right is a Harbor Freight 5 speed bench top...

Flywheel on the left keeps things moving.

I had never welded cast iron before.  It isn't a pretty weld but it works.

Missed this post. Nice press and job on the repair. Welding old cast with an AC "buzz box" is a challenge; just takes practice and a high quality nickel rod. Many years ago the best I found was from a supplier Precision Alloy. I don't think they're around anymore?? Hobart has a similar rod "nickel 99". Ain't cheap but usually readily available at most Tractor Supply's.
