They belong in a museum!   Just beautiful!

I really like this one. About how big are these? Are they light enough to hang on a Christmas tree? Beautiful work.close3.JPG

Those are absolutely fantastic!!

You must go thru a bunch of sandpaper!

Lew, not as much as you might suspect. I do as much as I can with a skew and bedan. Both of those tools leave a pretty nice finish and usually I can just use 220 and then 320 grit. Normally only sand the finish after the two shellac coats and use synthetic steel wool for that.

Pat, thank you first of all. I make my ornaments with the idea they will be used to hang on a tree. In addition, they are as kid safe as possible. That's the reason they have a ball in lieu of a fine point and more delicate finials.  I haven't weighed that one but I would guess it will be somewhere around .7oz. If you like I can weigh it and let you know exact weight.  Globes are typically 1.75-2" diameter and the ornaments around 5" overall length. That can vary an inch or so either way. The globe on that one is maple and the finials are walnut dyed red with aniline dye.

Steve, I bet they were a lot of fun to make. Do sell them or give them as presents? They all look great.
