May 3, 20188 yr Got home late yesterday and we spent the evening unpacking, doing laundry and putting stuff away. Today was cleaning the shop and finishing up the rifle rack I made for a friend. My poor old lathe sure is feeling lonely! @Gerald told us he sold one of his turned bowls! Gerald explains a little more in his post- Mike Peace posted a video about Woodturning Forums. He speaks about the characteristics and what you can expect. As with anything on the Internet, we need to keep an open mind about the advice we glean from the many sources available. Our very generous sponsor, Easy wood Tools, has put up a video showcasing their Easy Wood Chuck. I've mentioned this item several times in the past. This chuck is the epitome of excellence. Next time you are at a woodworking show or at Woodcraft, pick up the chuck and see what I mean. Thanks, @Jim from Easy Wood Tools! Tim Yoder posted a 2 part video on making very large platter. He shows us how to safely mount such a large piece. As luck would have it, he also uses the Easy Wood Chuck for this turning- Safe turning
May 3, 20188 yr Thanks Lew. That Tim Yoder is entertaining and does a good job in all of his videos. I enjoy watching him.
May 3, 20188 yr Good job again Lew. The Mike Peace video really speaks to me. I remember getting lots of help and encouragement from the accomplished turners on the WOOD forum. Finding a good forum is right up there with finding a good club IMO. Steve
