oldwoodie Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 You guys helped me find pen parts from Berea Hardwoods, Now, if instructs says to press parts into wooden pen parts, do you use super glue on them? Quote
Gerald Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 No glue to fit pen parts it is a press fit. You do glue the brass tube into a drilled hole in the wooden pen blank. I would suggest looking for a good pen video to show the whole process as pictures do tell a lot more and then the basics are the same for most pen kits. Quote
HandyDan Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 The young fellow in this video does a pretty good job of explaining the procedure. The parts of the pen are a press fit no glue. I use epoxy to glue the brass tubes into the wood blanks. I found if there is any moisture still in the wood blank using super glue on the the brass tubes can be disastrous because it sets up too quickly. Gerald and lew 2 Quote
lew Posted April 13, 2018 Report Posted April 13, 2018 Pressing the pens together can be done several ways. This video shows a home made pen press. It's near the end f the video- HandyDan 1 Quote
