September 21, 20196 yr Hmmm. the HF clamps I have been getting come with plastic pads installed... Problem is keeping them on.. . You can see one of the pads in the bottom right....never fear, you can buy new pads, too...

Like Steven said, all the one's I've bought had plastic caps. But I am still going to look for a few bottle caps that will fit other clamps I have.
September 21, 20196 yr If your lurking in the shadows buying Menards Masterforce 12" 16" and 24" f style clamps the larger gatorade or other will fit these... Edited September 21, 20196 yr by BillyJack
September 21, 20196 yr A dab of hot melt glue will hold those stock pads pretty well. Might want to warm up the steel first, though.
September 21, 20196 yr Popular Post I've got to wonder how many of you Harbor Freight fans have a industrial cabinet saw in your little hobby shop.
September 21, 20196 yr Harbor Freight clamps I use....with the pads still on these 2 (circled) And..the Cauls I use with them... Made from scraps...mainly Ash, as I have a bit in the bin..

Though I do have some industrial hammers. I won't buy anything at HF that has a motor. But then, HF ain't the only tool seller on my s**t list. Edited September 21, 20196 yr by Gene Howe

I think the newer HF clamps have better clamps pads than previous clamps. at least yours do..When I bought these from HF on the cheap half were missing... Edited October 12, 20196 yr by BillyJack
October 12, 20196 yr Yeah, the newer HF F style clamps have decent pads but could be improved as you did. The new ones have rubberized handles. Soft and easier to grip to tighten.
October 12, 20196 yr I noticed at the woodworking shows here in KC 10 years ago that they sold similar clamps to what I bought at HF pretty cheap. I think I gave 10$ a piece with a 6" reach.... Edited October 12, 20196 yr by BillyJack
October 12, 20196 yr I've got several Jorgenson F styles that probably would have been in that range 10 years ago. Most of mine came from yard sales and estate auctions. They're so old, pads hadn't been invented yet. And, bottle caps were the screw on metal type.
October 12, 20196 yr Yard sales and estate auctions are about the only way to find any good tooling anymore...
