September 11, 20178 yr it's all about buzz and branding. talent is secondary, people want a "Name" on their stuff, not some anonymous piece of quality. they want to be able to tell their friends "oh yes, we have a __________" and not "a local guy designed and made that very nice piece for us"
September 11, 20178 yr Author I had to repair a Gerrit Rietveld design Red and Blue Chair. Don't know if it was an authentic or copy, but it sure did not look comfortable. As I recall, it sat unused in the corner of a room and got damaged in a move.
