March 11, 20179 yr This past week was beautiful spring weather. Spent most of the week outside; had a couple areas of the lawn that needed some serious work done. Have one about completed and a good start on the second. What am I talking about, my whole yard needs serious work... Inside I am still doing some little prep jobs as I prepare for the contractor to help me with the upstairs. Hopefully he will be starting this coming week. The next few days it is supposed to be cold and rainy, so I will continue with the upstairs remodel - adding a couple electrical outlets, filling nail holes and such. Cal

Absolutely...I keep thinking we should have a TPW gathering...though I might be a little (or a lot) out of the way for most folks (except maybe Steven). Hmmm, maybe we could make it a drywall party. March 11, 20179 yr @John Morris Today just kinda hung loose in the shop, and a few honey-do's. Buddy of mine at work is remodeling his home and he asked if I could join two oak boards together for a wide stair tread and round the lead edge, I did. First time I used my routers in over a year! My neighbors aren't used to all that noise. Just tell them you fired up the old Kirby. Herb Edited March 11, 20179 yr by Dadio
March 11, 20179 yr It was 84 in Phoenix. 73 on the mesa, now. Picked up my hinges. I called yesterday and was assured they had the Brussos in stock. Well, guess what. Had to settle for the Rockler brand. But, the guy that waited on me had just finished a box using their quadrant hinges. He had several good tips. So all was not in vain. Got some other goodies, too. Stopped in Payson on the way back. Blew the diet with a monstrous bean and cheese chimichunga. Man, it was good. But it was so big, I didn't have room for that pie. March 12, 20179 yr Popular Post We are still enjoying the new addition to the family here. I did find a little time to get out in the shop while everyone was sleeping. Earlier in the week took a trip to the blue store to grab plywood for a new table saw stand. Brought some help with me He also spent some time decorating in the shop... I was able to bring to new table saw stand to a point that I could mount the table saw. Will be adding drawers but can't decide whether I want one large drawer for larger power tools and then and several smaller drawers or how I want to do that but will be figuring that out and then adding the drawers. I will also be building a router table on open end of the stand which will be at the height of the table saw. This will be a huge improvement over my current setup. Much more efficient use of space. Both the table saw and router table will be at the same height as the workbench placed behind it. I wanted to keep it mobile so it has two fixed casters on the left side so I can still move it when needed. Now just have to figure out the drawers and plan the router table and fence. Also hung my wife's picture frame I made for her. Just glad she didn't want to paint and distress this one... Hopefully will be adding breadboards to my blanket chest top sometime this weekend and start gluing up the panels for the case. Have a great weekend!
March 12, 20179 yr Bringing that boy up right, Trey. Your saw stand/cart and your plans for it are great. Can't help with the drawer decision. I've learned that whatever you do, you'll wish you'd done it the other way. Great job on the picture fame. Simple and elegant. Love the message, too.
