was just watching the Woodwright's Shop.. Episode 3509 - Hollows and rounds...

16 minuets in they used a vise that is sort similar this What's it...

it's different but it's similarity just may be some food for thought...

    172-4 A flat belt tightener, for stretching wide flat belts in order to connect the ends together.
