Thanks all. I was amazed that you can buy all the parts and build a new saw for about $31...according to the manual.

Truely Quality work. I stumbled across This site doing a little look up on my grandfathers saw, which I believe to be originally purchased by him. This is an awesome saw and has never let me down and requires very little maintenance.

Thought you may enjoy these...Operating the new Delta 24 inch Scroll Saw.pdf1019102256_Delta700right.jpg.52b47390f409ac3c82bee6ba99d8793f.jpg495642389_Delta700left.jpg.e1695f8fe4a9a0ec499a187b7d8e0e61.jpg

@Glenn Halfpap...First, Welcome to The Patriot Woodworker. Great to have you here and glad you found us.

What an awesome original saw you have. Obviously VERY well taken care of over the years and cool you continue to use it. Our forum host, @Larry Buskirk will "drool" over one in such pristine condition. The work light caught my eye. I'm sure it was an OEM option and likely very rare in the "wild" today. Thanks for sharing here.

Any questions you may have about the saw, no doubt Larry will be able to help. Extremely knowledgeable about vintage Delta tools.

Looking forward to your participation here and seeing some of your projects. We love pictures here.

Grandpa's tools are much cherished at this point and wish my dad and grandpa could share their knowledge today. Both are gone but not forgotten.

Know what you mean about the tools. I have an old Atlas, floor model drill press sitting in the corner for years now that needs redone. It belonged to my grandpa, then my dad....both grandpas were gone when I was pretty young...dad taught me alot...he wasn't really a WW'er but an accomplished mechanic, carpenter, DIY'er and farmer.

Hi Glenn,

First of all, Welcome to The Patriot Woodworker!

Very nice 700 you've got there, I like the line-shaft drive, very cool!

Can't wait to see your other toys. :D

Thanks all. I was amazed that you can buy all the parts and build a new saw for about $31...according to the manual.

That restore is awesome, I can only think of one more item you should buy a belt guard or shroud.

Thanks Michael,

I'll be running the machine on a line-shaft setup along with a drill press, band saw, lathe, etc. , so belt guards would be kind of a pain when installing/removing the belts.

They may be a pain when installing and removing belts but better than injured hands, feet, or anything else a stray board that the belt kickes up will hit.  Either be always careful and keep all loose material away from the belts or install guards.

I'll only be running one machine at a time, so I'll have limited belts running at any given time.

The reason that I'll be using a line-shaft setup is to be able to use a single motor with a foot switch that is FWD/REV capable.
