  1. Very impressive Larry. I enjoyed watching the detailed steps of the restoration. Great attention to detail! Now lets see it covered in sawdust
  2. Simply excellent thread. I picked up an old peice of equipment Friday with 3 handwheels on it. All this information will be very useful. Thanks guys!
  3. Carve one chip at a time. Focus on the big picture. Patience Wayne Mahler said: Jeff Great job. Love all of it. You have a gifted talent for carving. Really looking forward to seeing more of your work. Any tips for us newbies starting into carving?  Wayne Mahler God bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
  4. I worked as sub on the staircase, so others where involved. I carved the scrollwork under the rail and 3-4 peices that aren't shown, on my bench. I carved the newell posts throughout the whole staircase on site.  I was involved somewhat on the staircase as a whole, but others certainly deserve the credit ( treads, risers, ballisters & rail) Bob Kloes said: Very nice work Jeff. Very nice. The staircase is breathtaking. All of them are. Thanks so much for showing them. Would love to see more, bob  Bob Kloes www.bobkloes.com
  5. Thanks for the welcome. I've been relief carving/ woodworking for 25+ yrs. I mainly carve 8/4 hardwoods preferring walnut & white oak. Some antique and architectural duplication, wildlife and various other subjects.
