Rear Posts in Steamer

I even put the posts in the steam box just because, I don't know, but I felt like I needed to before I fired up the steamer, I just wanted to see them in the box! I pulled them back out before I fired up the steamer and waited about 15 minutes for the box to heat up before returning the posts back inside.

Out of curiosity, why did you just not leave them in?

I probably could have Gene. But there has to be a timed window of 1 hr per inch, starting when the box reaches 220 degrees. So to know when the correct cooking time was up, I put them in the box at the temp suggested and at the time suggested. Once I do a few more of these chairs and get a good grasp on the construction process, I'll let up on the"rules" and get lazy when I can and fudge where I can. But for now I'm going by the book for my first few chairs.

Aha...now I know. Thanks. In the future there's nothing wrong with bending the rules.....pun intended.
