Todd, thanks for the kind comments, this was my first dive into chair making and I absolutely loved it. I am hooked on chairs, I have built two other sculpted chairs since this first one, and I have gone down the chair path, not necessarily sculpted rockers but chairs in general. Family has become a main focus in my life lately with oldest girl heading off to college in the fall, and my other two kids with their activities have demanded much of my time lately. At this moment I am mainly relegated to reading about chairs and building them, but I am getting ready to soon fire up the shop for some more chair making, I am excited about the prospect. In the interim I have been keeping my shop occupied with smaller projects for friends and family, but the chairs do call my name!

They are intimidating at first, and then it's like something unlocks in the realm of knowledge and understanding. And something magical happens, like your chair. (Not to sound cheesy but there ya go.)

And there ya go! It was a huge learning experience for me, I cannot even begin to explain the amount of knowledge I gained with just this one project. Been woodworking since I was 12 years old with Dad and in the trades since a young adult, this project did a whole lot for me in the short three months worth of weekends it took for me to build it. There are so many aspects to it, and phases, it touches on virtually every phase of fine woodworking in someway or another. It's a great project for anyone.

Sorry for the late reply Herb, I just don't make it back to these parts much! Thanks sir for the kudos, and the encouragement!
