A Little Drill Caddy

Featured Replies

I am same way. Some of the more common bits I keep in a handy bin. Just smaller.

And my pockets are full of bits.

This is a good time of year to replace those small bits that just can't be sharpened.  The box stores have sets of Dewalt standard black bits for $10.00.  I buy a set and replace all the small bits each year.

I started using a lot of harbor freight small drill bits. Work great and cheap.

I keep the most common out and others in storage.....

I need to make a setup for drill bits / hole saw  drills but I'm trying throw out wasted bits away and keep good ones around. I get tired of looking for sharp ones.

I cannot even compete with that collection . I love that strip on the cabinet door. Most of mine is in a tool chest under the DP. Which is not good visible but the red spot under the DP table.1458723230_8.DPtorouter8-19.JPG.a0b4642b78d952f0dd1ffe367722f250.JPG

Collection is a big word. Sometimes all those drill bits don't get used and become just a "collection" of bits. I wanted to buy a nice set of drill bits around $200. I would never use them..

6This is by far the best purchase I have made on drill bits that he been used and have lasted....

I won't sharpen the small ones anymore.harbor freight are only $1 for a pack of 5-10...

I'll look into the dewalts. I'm just tired of buying extra of something extra in the pack I already don't need...

I use a Drill Doctor to sharpen them.  If I am going to use a drill to make many holes I go to the local industrial supply house and buy one of their best bits.  Can't remember the brand but they are the best.
