About a week ago I had a friend tip me off about a barn full of lumber that a lady wanted to unload.  Long story short, I bought about 800 - 1000 BF of ash, walnut, maple, cedar and quarter sawn white oak.  There were several walnut 8/4 and 12/4 boards 12 foot long that are going to make some fine, fine challenge coin displays.

Here's a picture of two van loads of walnut and maple.  I unloaded about 100 BF of white oak into my barn and I figure there's about 200 bf of walnut in this pile.  A big shout out to my BIL who has a nice big pole barn to store everything I can't handle.  The picture is a bit deceiving because I throw a sheet of black plastic over the pile so you're really only seeing half the length.

I know of a barn, alongside a state road near here, that has most of the stalls FULL of 4x4 x20wide rough sawn stuff.    They had a barn sale a while back, and had not so much as a stick of the wood for sale....BUMMER

Now, do you share?  LOL

I'll share........for a price.

That's a nice haul Ron!

I know that you will get to make some really nice stuff from it.

Ron, I have a trailer and a secret place it can be stored!

It is only a donkey ride away. :-)

Allen, you'll be pleased to know that Ron Bebberness has "twin" in Indiana.  He's my brother in law and you don't need a donkey to get to the barn.  It is in the country so you may need a guide.

Good looking stuff, Ron.

It's a good new, bad news project.  Good news is that I got alot of wood for a terriffic price.  The bad news is that I lost half my garage.

Well, get busy. It'll be gone soon enough.

We just returned with 2 more trailer loads of wood and I surrender.  In total we have about 1500 board feet of lumber mostly white oak and walnut with a sprinkling of tulip, cedar and ash.  Here's the garage pile and there's about 250 BF of QSWO stacked in the barn loft.  For reference, that board standing on its edge is a piece of walnut that is 17" tall, 2 inches thick and 10 1/2 feet long.
