Friday March 13th, 2026-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

ChinScratch Appears to be Friday again folks.

Sorry I missed the past couple of Fridays.

The one for the February 27th was interrupted by a 6:00 AM call from a neighbor with well pump problems.

Check Valve in her submersible pump decided it wasn't going to do it's job anymore. So when it would reach pressure it just leaked back and just kept the pump cycling.

Well service had quoted her about $1600.00 to replace the pump.

Being a Journeyman Pipefitter I simply (Yeah Right, turned into an all day job) added a Check Valve at the inlet of the water storage tank.

Had to move the tank about six inches to have enough room to fit the Check Valve which required a bit of piping rework to the outlet side so the tank could be moved.

The one for March 6th was spent recovering from a Sinus Infection I believe I got from some mold in her well storage tank cabinet.

10 days of an Antibiotic that believe me kicks butt, and doesn't let one get far from a bathroom. PullingHair

So as I get back to feeling half-human,

What's on Your Weekend Agenda? WonderScratch

Relatively light weekend. My most important assignment is to nurse my bride back to health from the cold I gave her.

  • Worked on cabinet assembly. The 3D printed "corner holders" that I printed worked GREAT! Total game changer. They were 19mm which was a good size as 18mm was too snug for this plywood. Using those h

Vacuum pressing bent lamination s to make 2 drawer fronts, might get the last one finished today (tonight actually, they have to stay in the press overnight). At this point things have went well although this has turned out to be a little more complicated than i thought it would be. Otherwise I'm trying to not get blown away by high winds today.

Fred, what are you using for adhesive? Eagerly waiting to see the two fronts? Danl

Prayers for Dorothy. Tell her it takes about a week or 7 days whichever comes first to mend; VOE.

I need to run a couple errands today but the continual 50+ mph wind gusts are extinguishing my moto-vations. We'll see. Donut know about tomorrow. Church Sunday.

I have always used two weeks or 14 days whichever comes first

Still practicing on new zero turn. Did not know that there was such a learning curve. Got shelves up in closet so can walk in shop once more. Will try to get garments fence back up. Gotta look at fence chargers now.

I totally understand as we are experiencing the same high winds plus a wet heavy snow. Depending on which weather guesser you listen to, it will be between 10 to 20 more inch’s before the weekend is over with. So my plans are pretty simple, stay inside and keep the wood stove stoked. Hands down the worst winter we’ve experienced since we moved here 5 years ago.

Spring can’t come soon enough.

@Gerald I know when i first got one (ZT) it took a couple of mowings to start getting accustomed to it versus the lawn tractor i had been using. The I tried pulling a trailer sprayer I had with it and completely gave up doing that. My S-I-L pulls a few things with his and seems to manage, but i wasn't able to master the effort.

Got the Sony reel to reel tape deck working and ready to head back to the owner. Fortunately it was all mechanical faliures.

Took advantage of the 70/80's earlier this week and cut up all the waiting logs into bandsaw sized chunks. Sealed and in the basement. Now the process of roughing out the pieces, then drying.

The little girl next door abandoned the beautician prop idea for her play, so that freed up another possible project- so far. But, I fear Mimi's involvement with her church's Woman's Guild will find something for me to do.

Lews post reminded me that the wife has a thing Monday and keeps giving me stuff to do. Finally I gave up and asked her to send me a list. She has since added to it a couple times. Almost forgot I need to do that but I am sure she would remind me again

My first pressing (a test) I used the Veneer Supplies Ultra Cat, which is a powder UF glue much like the Weldwood we used to buy before it was discontinued. But I was running low on that, and bought some Unibond 800 which was highly recommended on another forum. It's a liquid that you mix with a catalyst, Honestly, in use I can't see much difference, and the Unibond is a little more expensive. So if i need to buy more I may go back to the Ultra Cat if I need more. Once I get the drawer fronts finished I'll post some pics of how it went and what i wound up with.

I think that's what my SIL has. Good mower. IIRC, 24 hp, twin cylinder Kawasaki. It's a grass cutting demon.
