Our Patriot Turners-

@Gerald liked Tim Yoder's duck so much he decided to turn a couple for his daughter!

Apparently, its a "Jeep Thing"

@Steve Krumanaker continues to find ways to use his 3D printer to aid in his lathe work. This is a pretty cool little add on and helps save his fingers.

Steve also posted some images of his "drop spindles". He works with local artisans to recreate old items that were used in fabric making.

And just for the fun of it, Steve made a sweet little bowl. I love the pyrography on the bottom.

More images in Steve's posts!

@Rusty S posted some of his work in the "What's On Your Workbench" forum. He turned a center post for a table and is creating sliding dovetails for the feet!

Tim also has a useful tip on keeping your tool rest in great shape

Ever wonder what's the best type of grinding wheels are best for turning tools? Craft Supplies USA has a great video comparing stone to CBN wheels.

Expand Your Horizons-

The first of the month means that the "4 Ways" collaborators are showing us their interpretations of a turned project. This month they are turning Weed Pots (insert Bevis and Butthead laughs here).

Last week we mentioned turning spheres. Tomislav Tomasic demonstrated doing them without any calculations. Maybe Alan Stratton was watching Tommy's video and decided to show us the way he does it.

@Gerald belongs to the Magnolia Woodturners. He recently did a demonstration on making aluminum collets with woodturning tools and lathe!

New Turning Items-

Not new but if you turn bottle stoppers, you know that wine bottle and whiskey bottle stoppers are not the same. Niles Bottle Stoppers whiskey stoppers are on sale.

Everything Else-

Safe turning

Quite a few nice ideas from our members this week. Nice array of videos too. Thanks.

Thanks for the post Lew and the mention. Some good stuff this week. And like you I love that Phicops Steve puts on his bowls . I have actually tried it a couple times but have not done a bowl in maybe 18 months.

Thanks for the recognition😁I feel honored to be included in this talented group.

I haven’t turned any twig vases in a while, I think I need to get out there a turn a few. Thanks @lew for another great post.
