I have a Jet air filter up above in my main shop area that I turn on whenever I'm in the shop, and usually set to run for a couple hours after I close up for the day.

This new "filter cart" is intended to increase my filtration as a way to keep my minisplit clean(er). Also, I'm expanding into a new area so have more area to cover. Have looked at the Wen but thought that unit used unique size filters. Considering this furnace blower a more cost effective (it was free) with more options on filters. All a work in progress so appreciate the comments, suggestions, and insights.

A note on dust disturbance. It is hard for most of us but if you let shavings and dust pile up on the floor/ or if you sweep instead of vacuum. These practices lead to more dust in the air. When possible it is always best to vacuum. Not only does this reduce dust in air but it gets more of the dust in the fine crevices. My floor has a broom finish , unfortunately< I jut did not specify and the concrete guy did it. Probably cheaper to do it that way.

Yes, good point. I often do a bit of both. I do have a habit of cleaning each time I leave the shop (so no piles of shavings or sawdust!!). I make sure to vacuum out whatever tools I've used too. Unfortunately, the floor is not great, with cracks, so that's always a challenge. Down the road I want to add some rubber flooring.

Coming along. Looks like you'll soon need additional wall space.😆

What is on the face of your neon clock? Looks quite similar to the Mopar clock I bought for my Son-in-law.

Anyone have a air cleaner (like the Wen Lew shared) that takes more standard filters? A old ceiling fan was removed in my new space and replaced with an outlet. Thinking to put a filter unit, but would like to lessen the cost if replacement filters.

Also looking to add an extension cord on a reel as I'll have a bench at some point underneath that outlet.

Depending how quickly you want to install one, you might check/ search Facebook Marketplace for a used unit. I see them quite often in our area; often they are Jet, Rikon or Shop Fox (same as Grizzly). I believe those have more standard size filters. Just a thought.

Go-pher-it; good investment; You'll use it more than you think with/without the bench.

I wish! My husband checks FB Marketplace daily for me. A few deals but seems like locally there isn't much or what does pop up is either "junk" (sorry, don't mean to be rude) or used for nearly new prices. We will continue to search but also exploring new so I can get the setup "done" (haha...know this never will happen as change is part of shop life!) in order to move on to my project list.

Maybe this will help-

Dust-Filers.pdf

Thanks Lew. I'll take a look at that.

That's awesome. Not too late. Barrett-Jackson has their annual kick-off sale going on in Tucson. I had a '67 GTO when we got married. Red, black vinyl top, all white interior, fast, very fast.

:ChinScratch: Monday, I must have missed something.
