:ChinScratch: Looks like it's Friday again folks.

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" it's another sloppy day after setting a new record high temperature yesterday.

So, I guess I'll be doing inside stuff again today. :Ho_Hum.thumb:

Trying to figure out how to spend my new-found riches. Short story: the Cleveland Browns want to build a new domed stadium. They are asking the state for financial assistance and in their infinite wisdom the state government has offered up $600M. Since the state doesn't have that, they figured they just hand over some money from the "unclaimed funds" account. Never mind that this is the peoples money the state is supposed to be safeguarding for them, like left over bank accounts, uncashed checks, and such things....it's needed for a friggin' stadium.  Anyway, part of this was a state advertising campaign to have people check the list to see if they're owed money from that account. Being the good citizen I am, I checked. Lo and behold, they had some of my money! So I applied to get it back and got the check last week: $4.49!  This was (apparently) a Budweiser beer rebate that somehow didn't get to me and went to the unclaimed funds account. Now, I have no idea how much was turned over to the state, but it was not $4.49. Those rebates are always $5 case, and the fewest cases I ever bought was 2...so it had to have started out as $10; I guess the state gets to keep the other part for helping me out. I just love the way they look out for the little guy. Meanwhile, I have $4.49 to blow on something......

Hopefully day 1 of the minisplit install in the shop. Moved stuff out of the way and waiting for the HVAC guy. 🙂

Just received a call. Couple equipment issues (registers delayed in shipping, and some damage on the unit so need to get a different one from the warehouse) so not likely today.😕

Have 2 plane irons to sharpen up, and get the planes ready to ship....Paying Forward...

Have to start hauling boards to the shop...and get a start on a Shaker Styled Sideboard  to replace the beat up old Tudor Styled one....

Welp, the busy season is over snd typically I use January to bring the shop back in order. Tomorrow, is planer day. I plan on rotating all of the carbide inserts and replacing the thermal breaker.

Still working on the little vessel of illusion. After that I need to make some more rolling pins; turn some bowls as gifts  and replace the stained wood in the bottom of the dining room garden window.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is next week. Tradition has it that the weather is always nasty during that Farm Show week but it appears it might not happen this year.

I recently purchased a HF Hercules table saw to replace the HF Warrior table saw I have been using for the past three years. So far I really like the new saw. The last couple of days I set the new saw up, mounted it on the old Warrior rolling stand, updated my crosscut sled to fit the new saw and tweaked several other jigs to fit the new saw. This afternoon Amazon delivered the CMT rip saw blade with straight kerf that I am going to mount on the new saw this weekend and test a new way to create dados I learned about on YouTube the other day. I cut the pieces I need to build some storage shelves in the microwave cart in the kitchen so I am hoping to use the new dado technique to build said shelves this weekend.

No minisplit but did finally get the door built for the storage cabinet. Next is to get on some finish and figure out the install of the hinges (that usually is an adventure 🙄)

Couple hours in the woodshed today. Got a couple Shaker boxes bent and in their forms. I feel accomplished!

They are wet, thus the odd variation in wood color.

Of course Lady has to inspect.

Here's to a great weekend and beyond.

1700 hrs EST time my wife boarded a plane for San Diego FOR THREE WEEKS!!!

It was a bit of a last minute decision to go. She's going to help her step mother out.

That leaves me and the dog home alone and unsupervised. I know that's kind'a scary to me also, but we shall endeavorer to persevere.

I've got enough projects to keep me busy until I figure out what it is that I really want to do during this time.

I got a good start today loading the refrigerator with lot's of good BEEF and local farm fresh eggs and bacon for breakfast.

Harvested some sticks today that sprouted after yesterday's storms and 60+mph wind gusts. Barely made a dent in this crop.

Tomorrow morning, oldest grandson has a Jr. Varsity, four team, basketball tournament at our South district school. Church Sunday, then youngest grandson's travel league basketball games.

Currently watching the Peach Bowl. One particular team I have an interest watching😜. So far, VERY impressed. Concession stand has stocked donuts for this game. :Eat: No lines either.😆

I was in your same situation right after Thanksgiving. I survived, and you will too! Just don't do like I did and eat all the forbidden fruit the first three days she gone ie: pizza, icecream, cake, cookies, couple gallons of milk, carne asada burrito from fav mex place etc etc, I paid the price heavily, but gawd was it good!

First, let me make it clear, I'm NOT a licensed investment counselor. That disclaimer in place might I recommend investing in the Donut Portfolios; my advice is splitting the investment as follows:

70% to the non-iced, glazed fund

10% to the chocolate iced, glazed fund

5% to the chocolate iced cake fund

5% to the non chocolate iced cake fund

10% to the Arabian coffee fund

I believe you will see positive returns in a relatively short time period.

I'm picking up 250bf of cedar lumber Saturday morning to build some birdhouses, trellises, and planter boxes (feel free to send me plans 🙂 ) for a Garden and green living expo show middle of next month. I'll also be working on building inventory (probably over a month or three) for a wholesale show we're trying the end of March. hoping the wholesale route will offset some loss in income for my wife's retirement this summer.

I'm not a licensed investment counselor either but I think I can see some holes in your investment strategy.
