where is the best place to post pics of some past projects and those int he future?

For Woodworking Projects go to...

https://thepatriotwoodworker.com/forums/forum/27-general-woodworking/

To the right is a Blue button, Start New Topic....you can create a new post for each project or include several within a single post if you choose. I'd do a screen shot, but posting from my tablet and I'm not smart enough to do from it.

@lew  a quick tutorial...TIA.

@Highlander So I can better help you, a couple of questions-

When you access the site, which of these do you mostly use?  PC, Mac, iPhone or android device?

Do you use a camera or phone for taking pictures?

  • Author

access with PC, use and take pics with android, easy to move pics to PC for posting...thanks!

Thanks for the information. I'm putting together a little how-to and will post it soon.

@Highlander  Hope this helps. Let me know if you have questions.

This procedure is for starting a new post and adding pictures. At the end there is a note about replying to an already written note.

Navigate to The Patriot Home page

2026-01-04 10_34_25-Saying Hello - Message (HTML).png

Click on the Forums tab

2026-01-04 10_34_44-Saying Hello - Message (HTML).png

From this window you can start a new topic in the forum that best matches your subject.

2026-01-04 10_35_05-Inbox - lewiskauffman@gmail.com - Outlook.png

Click on the BLUE "Start New Topic" button

2026-01-04 10_35_47-Inbox - lewiskauffman@gmail.com - Outlook.png

This window opens to allow you to select the forum in which you want to post.

2026-01-04 10_36_08-Saying Hello - Message (HTML).png

An Alternate way to select the desired forum is to scroll thru the forums list- in the second image above- and click on the one you want.

2026-01-04 10_36_38-Saying Hello - Message (HTML).png

When you select the desired forum, you will see the list of topics/posts in that forum

2026-01-04 10_37_19-Inbox - lewiskauffman@gmail.com - Outlook.png

To start a new topic, click the Blue button "Start New Topic"

2026-01-04 10_37_40-Inbox - lewiskauffman@gmail.com - Outlook.png

Here you can create your topic. A title is required as well as the body of the post. Adding Tags will help folks locate your post with the search function.

*********************************

To add a picture to your post, place the cursor where you want the image to be located

2026-01-04 10_42_07-Greenshot.png

At the bottom of the window, where you are creating the post, look for the "choose files" option. When you click on it you will be redirected to your windows File Explorer.

2026-01-04 10_42_36-Greenshot.png

At this point, you will need to locate where you save your pictures on your PC. I use my Desktop for pictures I want to post but that's just me.

2026-01-04 10_43_43-Open.png

Once you have located the picture- in the window- click on it to highlight it. Then click the "Open" button at the bottom of the window

2026-01-04 10_44_23-Open.png

You will automatically be directed back to your post and the picture you want to add will be shown below the post entry window

2026-01-04 10_45_04-Greenshot.png

With your cursor, hover over the image you want to place in the post and click the "Insert" button.

2026-01-04 10_45_26-Greenshot.png

The image will be placed in your post at the cursor position within your post. It's a good Idea to check your cursor position, within the post, before your click the insert button just to be sure the image is placed  where you want it. You can always reposition the image or delete it from within the post and then reenter it. Images deleted from within the post itself are not deleted from the uploaded image located below the post.

2026-01-04 10_45_53-.png

You can continue adding content- word and images- to complete your post and the click on the submit button

2026-01-04 10_47_06-Greenshot.png

You can use the same procedure to reply to an already written post. Just locate the the post and reply using the information starting at the  "*********************************"  above.

Nice tutorial, if I can't figure it out with this then I should lose my access to the vault.... and be demoted in status.....

@lew, @Highlander If I may add something, I usually open a browser window and a File Explorer window side by side on my screen, place the cursor at the location in my post here I want the picture then just drag and drop the photos from the File Explorer Picture folder to my post. I usually do a couple of carriage returns after I drop a picture so the next picture is not butted up to the previous picture.

I hope this helps and didn't muddy the water like the Mississippi River.

Donuts help prevent demotion. Chocolate covered donuts provide access to the vault.

An excellent alternative to the steps, Bubba! I am going to add it as an addendum to the steps I posted in the "Network Tutorials" forum, if that's OK with you. Of course you will get full credit and a portion of the royalties (paid in donuts) 😀

That's OK with me @lew.....as long as the donuts are plain glazed or chocolate covered. 😛

Thanks! I'll have to check with @Grandpadave52 as he is the CFO for the donut division.

After an emergency departmental review, this appears to be a viable solution and comes at a much needed time. With the unexpected increase of dispersion at year end, we currently anticipate a 1Q shortfall. This added revenue should prevent reverting to any service disruptions or potentially taking more severe steps such as regional rationing. Our department will continue meeting regularly to closely monitor this situation. Thank-you for your cooperation and understanding.
