Friday again folks.

Not much happening here other than drying out after two and a half days of pretty much constant rain.

Not much here for the weekend.  Just remembering Memorial Day and those who gave the last full measure of devotion.

What is that bush, Larry?

Some errands today then picking up my youngest grandson from his last day of school. He will be my last PU from the elementary school. It's been a long journey beginning with his mom lots of years ago.

Tomorrow we head across state early for our youngest granddaughters college graduation. Pretty proud of her; a double major in chemistry and biology; honors program student; 4 year, NCAA D-3 athlete (swimming), Dorm RA and a Chemistry TA this year. Doesn't seem that long ago I was picking her up from her last day at the elementary.

Sunday, church, then watching some of the Indy 500; a sellout crowd so the 75 mile TV live broadcast ban has been lifted. I need to work in mowing before the next wave of rain arrives.

As is usual, big rush to get several fleet vehicles back in service for holiday weekend.  Few major miracles

Bridal Wreath Spirea (Spiraea prunifolia), Lew.

When found it was about a six-inch long twig, now it's about six by ten feet.

The news reported some huge number of 'mericans will travel at least 50 miles this weekend. I guess we did our part today. Drove Marie down to UC hospital (90 miles one way) to see yet another doctor (CNP in this case) about yet another health problem. It sucked, but what made it worse was that when we left Cincy it was sunny and 60°, but the time we got home 15 minutes ago it was cloudy and 56°. I hope to mow the lawn sometime before Monday, then some tinkering in the shop. I'll be putting a pork butt on the smoker Sunday night.

This week I completed a project that I have been thinking about for a long time. I can't really call it a woodworking project since there is only 1 piece of wood in it. But that 1 piece of wood needed to be exactly a 14" circle so I went onto Youtube and found a video on how to make a palm router circle cutting jig.

with this jig I can make a perfect circle for 5" to 21".

Recently I purchased a clock at a garage sale for $2 that had a 14" face and a glass dome cover. I used this as a frame for a piece of crochet work that my grandmother did many years ago. For all I know this piece could be 80-100 years old. I found at least a dozen of these in a dresser drawer after my wife passed away about this time last year. It seemed a shame to not display at lease one of these pieces of Americana art. In her lifetime she must have made hundreds of these.

As for the weekend I spent most of today with my daughter and granddaughter fishing and going out to lunch and the rest of the weekend I'll most likely be out in the shop tinkering with who knows what.

I don't drive 50 miles on any given week, no way I'm going out with the numbnuts on the road this weekend.:D

Have 3 days off, well 2 really.  Takes me almost a full day to recover and get my arm feeling good again after a 5 day work week.  That ends in Jan of 2027, 4 days a week from that point on until I fully retire.

Well, I've got one car that's waiting for parts at the mechanic's shop.  Started Thursday and still not ready.  Then on the way home, the right lane was stopped and someone pulled out of a gas station after someone left him space and he ran right into the rear quarter panel of my car.  Given the mileage, the tow truck driver thought it might be totaled.  Of course being a holiday weekend, it will probably be most of a week before I hear anything.  The other driver did have insurance and fessed up to his error.

Looks wonderful, display it proudly but not in a sunny area of the house, the color in the flowers will disappear.

Cutting the grass again today. My yard was pretty beat-up from last year's garden install so I had the company that helped with the garden spray my grass to help it recover. No weeds and the grass is thick and since the 3rd of April I have been cutting the grass every 3-4days. It's a third of an acre and I've been using the push mower to help exercise my lungs & at this point the grass looks like the #5 fairway at Oakmont & my lungs are feeling good.

@Gerald Will you be doing some of the work on the new place yourself?
