:ChinScratch: Looks like a day to run around in circles. ;)

Which is more than likely what I'll be doing. <_<

So, as I go about running around in circles,

What's on Your weekend Agenda?

Yesterday I finally finished the shelf unit for my granddaughter that I started a couple of weeks ago so I think this weekend I will just kick back and relax.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished project.

I forgot all about pi day....

A few years ago we went out to Pie Town for pi day.  The surprise of the trip was how good green chile apple pie is with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Should have taken the day off and gone out there again, pi day on a Friday is perfect for that!  No one outside NM has heard of Pie Town much, it's small even by our standards.  Very rural, it's all ranchers and a few retirees who don't want to live in the big city.  I think there may still be a gas station, but the first time I drove through in the 1980's there was nothing open at all.  Couple tourist traps that open and sell refreshments on special occasions like pi day.

I'm hoping to get some more work done on banding practice tomorrow.  Looking in to some alternative glues for that too - I had no idea they made clear PVA now, but I can't find much information on it.  Apparently, the primary application for it is making slime in science class.  Remember when science classes were more serious and far less fun?  I would have gotten into some real trouble if I'd known how to make slime or elephant toothpaste!

One of these days I have to install a new toilet.  The beauty of being single is I can delay such tasks and use the other bathroom instead..... Not a big job, wax ring is leaking and I have a spare Kohler in the garage so I'm just going to install it rather than put the American Standard back on with a new wax ring.  I really like Kohler's flush valve better - super easy to fix once it's seal starts leaking.  Might get around to that this weekend too.... it's only been 4 months after all!

"We" have decided to do spring house cleaning...

Last Sunday the relatively new refrigerator stopped working. Luckily, the appliance dealer got the repairman out to us on Tuesday morning. Unluckily, they had to order a new compressor and something called an Inverter. They will be here Tuesday to do the warranty repair. Fortunately, we have a smally refrigerator and freezer in the basement and were able to save almost all of the food.

Nice work on the bookcase @Bubba.

After the kitchen redo I needed to replace the siding on the back of the house which I had done on Wednesday. I'm happy with the work & the way they sealed everything with the exception of, my crank out window. Spent about two hours yesterday cleaning out the sealant so we could open the window. I have to admit the sunshine felt good.

Working on taking apart some shelves I picked up from an insect farm. Racks have 30 3x2 , 4 2x4. , and some 250 plus screws all for $25. Also working on ripping the oak logs down. Oh boy where does the time go?

Insect ranching sounds much more romantic :D

EDIT:

But insect farming is more ironic.  Most farms prefer to get rid of insects I think :D

Late to the pi(e) party today. Good Dr. visit yesterday. BP 121/70. I had it wrong; wasn't a CT scan but an ultrasound scan of my carotid arteries. Official diagnosis is arteriosclerosis with some plaque in my basilar arteries. Dr. concurred with the Neurologist that my stroke was not a result of that blockage. That said, he also concurred there was no single identifiable cause for my stroke events.

Anyways, his professional opinion was there is more than adequate blood flow with the risk of placing a Stent far greater than any benefit. He said just keep on the current medications, activities within reasonable moderation and return in a year. He did strongly state NOT to seek services of a chiropractor but saw no concerns for undergoing future anesthesia as long as the Anesthesiologist fully understood my history. Mrs. & I celebrated with a meal and root beer from the original Dog-n-Suds; no donuts though.

After my domestic duties were complete, I did spend some time in the garage trying to figure where I left off last September. Saturday, monthly men's breakfast then some errands; Sunday, church.

:( I hear donut deficiency can cause some strange problems in men in their early 70s. Doctor John prescribes one dozen (12) of your favourite donuts, with sprinkles.

Thanks. Good to know the cause of all my strangeness. Does that mean we can bill my insurance for this Rx?

@Grandpadave52 glad you had a good report but a life without doughnuts is what kind of life. I resisted the temptation yesterday.
