Got three undercounter florescent lights updated with LED bulbs and two more in my shelving system switched out as well.  Took cutting out ballasts and rewiring a bit.  Kind of surprised that they all worked first time they powered up. The ones in my shelving system reside in a box atop the shelves to provide upward ambient room light as well as illuminate whatever is on the top shelf below.

I like the LED lights myself. I have just about replaced every light, inside and out, with LEDs. My front porch has an LED dusk-to-dawn LED bulb. The light next to my grill on the back porch has a motion sending LED bulb and the LED  light bar above my kitchen counter has a motion sending switch where I can just wave my hand, wet or dry, under it to turn the light bar on.

Why didn't I invest in LED technology 30 years age?

Back in the day when I could do things for myself, I replaced all the lighting in my home and shop with LED lighting. A significant savings over the old incandescent lighting. If you haven't done this in your home I strongly urge you to do yourself a favor and get it done. Lighting in the shop was significantly brighter with only a few lighting units.. Eliminated all the old florescent lighting.

I did too and never looked back.  I did mine with direct wire bulbs and eliminated the ballasts.

The improved lighting and energy savings are great with LED, but just as important (to me) was the elimination of the hum from the ballast and the interference of the radio.

I replaced all the incandesced bulbs in my house several years back when the price of LED versions dropped to a reasonable level.  There are a few stragglers outside that I've been slow to replace as they are rarely used. Front porch light is one I'll put on my agenda as I like the thought of a motion sensing one. Rear upper and lower deck lights I've nearly forgotten about.  Did the driveway light a few weeks back when the days got shorter.   Changed that one to a motion sensing version so it would light up when I came or went during dark hours. The previous one used a special bulb and hasn't worked for 10 years or more.

Replaced most of our bulbs 6 or 7 years ago and have 4 motion detectors outside with two having Ring cameras. Sure is nice to know who is at the door and in driveway.  By the way the LEDs I added are much brighter than what they replaced. Makes a difference in the shop.
