:ChinScratch: Another month bit the dust.

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I'm having a bit of a tough time; I broke my glasses a couple of days ago. <_<

With that, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?  :WonderScratch:

My weekend agenda, in no particular order... enjoy these beautiful fall days we've been given, enjoy the super fragrant tea olives I have around the yard, walking - this let's me combine both of the former when I walk outside.  Got a ball game or two to watch on Saturday, cutting up some scrap to do a mock up of a bed frame - none of the plans and pics I've found on line "does it" for me.  If the mock up works, it will be working on cut & shopping list to dive into the real thing next week.

Still working on a 2" thick butcher block to fit on a kitchen cabinet base. It's a bit tricky getting a good fit as it needs to marry with existing Corion top.

Cleaning up, putting away all the toys from the Linen Closet Door Project.....after that?

Kicking back today, hung up the gardening hat, I'll cut the grass tomorrow and if there is a football game on, I might watch.

You do remember you can drink directly from the bottle or can, right?

after lunch and after i put away the rest of the laundry (friday is normally laundry day here), i'm headed down to the shop to pick out a bowl blank and then turn a bowl.  it's a prize for the winner of an election prediction contest.  guess the winner and the electoral vote total.  closest correct wins the bowl.  and fame.  no fortune sadly...

Just picked up Q'bert from the Chevy dealer in College Station.  Made a little more progress on my antenna build today.  Will try to finish that up tomorrow and see if I can get it to tune.  If there is time, maybe put it up on the mast.  It's taken longer than it should due to my tendency to over engineer.  Tool Time Tim would be proud of me.  Once, I get it done it will last until at least 20 years.  Marine grade components, sealed connection box, riveted SO-239 connection etc.  Planning to paint with UV resistant paint.  Still need to turn a wooden bushing to fit to the mast

Sunday is Retirement/Birthday with company coming over.

Working on final shaping of the 2x stock for the shed. Has anyone used wet, well not dry, oak for outdoor construction?

Yesterday's Urology appointment didn't go as hoped. After several tests were performed a new catheter was placed. Afterwards I was allowed a 6 pack (donuts of course) of my choosing. Approximately 6:30A today, 11/1, my body rejected the catheter and it came out on its own accord. Good news is, I felt better than I have in several weeks at least for a few hours. Stopped at Rural King for bird seed and a few other "necessities" before going back to Urology. It felt good to be among Rural Shoppers again even if it was short lived.

After additional tests, a replacement catheter was placed. We drove straight home. Less than 15 minutes upon arrival home, that catheter was rejected and it too disengaged on its own. So back to Urology. According to my wife we made a 45 minute drive in 32 minutes on a Friday no less.  For the official record, I was the driver. A new, different type/ brand placed as obviously the others by lot number are defective. It's been an exhausting, not to mention painful and stressful 48 hours. I'm scheduled for a bladder scope 11/25 unless someone cancels prior.

The 6 pack previously noted is now a 4 pack; one for each of us. Wife and I also enjoyed and were granted a "date" lunch out while waiting for some test results and before being tethered again prior to failed placement #2. My apologies for TMI and sounding like a whiney old man. One day at a time.

Geeze Dave, that sucks a lot.  Hopefully they get this figured out soon.

Thanks Fred. One would think; maybe today will be the day? After everything else occurred, had to make an ER visit after midnight. Got back home about 4A and finally to "bed" about 4:30A. Back up at 6A for an irrigation treatment. Way too old for only 1-1/2 hour sleep over 24 hours.:OldManSmiley:

I was sleeping great until my Home Healthcare Case Manager called about 15 minutes ago to follow-up.:PullingHair: Her heart's in the right place. For a million dollars, 'er I mean donuts, I can't tell you what I even told her.

Anyways, since I'm up for a bit, I think I deserve a donut.:Eat: Might take a nap after that:GoodNight:

Thanks Dan. Yes, one step forward keeps resulting in 3 steps backwards. Somehow that doesn't seem right. I haven't seen any discounts or frequent visit perks show up on my billing statements yet. They haven't even given me as much as a Tootsie Roll, a sticker, or coloring book let alone a donut. I at least got a sticker when I voted.

got this done this morning:

it's about 4-1/2" diameter, 1-1/2" tall, and the inside is about 1" deep. so not a huge bowl, but holds about 2 large handfuls of M&Ms or peanuts or weed. finish is food safe (mineral oil/beeswax/carnuba wax mix).

wood is Ohia.
