A whole bunch of conspiracy theories hitting your office Ron?

The problem is spotty but real.  We replaced 3, sixty year old filters that had one foot in the grave and stirred up sediment throughout the piping system.  It will clear but it will take time.  The biggest complainers are Gen Xers that have nothing better to do.

Been working on upgrading a periscope tripod a made a couple decades ago. One sister of mine taught music at the two middle schools here in town.  She asked me to video record the performances of her classes.  First time with a regular tripod shooting from the back of the audience of parents and friends I found the late arrivals and early leavers liked to walk in front of the camera.  Thus I came up with a periscope tripod that held the camera 3' above but I could control it and watch what it saw at standing level.

New digital cameras with HDMI output have updated the 8mm tape camera and control handle, so I'm slowly updating the tripod with a new controller, new monitor, and new camera.  Something to do at least.

Busy weekend here.  First was obstacle course driving test for one of the VFD's I frequent.  We could either start small and work up to the bigger trucks, or start big and test out of the smaller ones.  Having regularly driven fire trucks since 2016 I opted for the latter and did fine.

Tomorrow doing a mile of highway cleanup on the road I take to work in the morning, then afternoon visit with some new neighbors for chicken nachos.  Really looking forward to that.  Hoping to get some shop time in this afternoon after having some lunch and unwinding a bit following the obstacle course.

THANK-YOU for both but especially service with your local VFD. I was a member of our township VFD many years ago. Humbling experience as one most always see others as they experience a very difficult time in their lives.

I am trying to get ready for my upcoming deer season. Spent yesterday making sure all is well at my deer lease and sighting in my rifle. Spent a good part of today trouble shooting a problem with the headlights on my Rhino side-by-side. Finally got the lights working.

Tomorrow I am taking my 9 year old granddaughter fishing. That little gal loves to fish and is actually pretty good at it.

I've mostly been on forest fires to date, and a few car accidents.  A lot of the time I'm just showing up with oxygen for tourists who've fainted :D  Up in the mountains things are pretty slow.  I don't like the car accidents, those really emphasize to me how little I can do at my level for patients' pain and fear.  One of the forest fires there were a lot of structures lost, but we were emotionally removed from that a bit when working the fire - all the people had evacuated.

I've been very impressed with this county's commitment to have organized volunteer departments, I don't remember that from other places I've lived out here.  I think there's only one small city in the county that does hybrid where the chief and officers are paid and the firefighters are volunteer.  The unfortunate thing is most of us are on the older side (I'm 54), we usually only have a few younger members.  On the plus side, those few we have are generally the sort who give me some hope for younger generations.
