Looking good.  Can you tell what is beefier on the Jet to make it heavier?

Check for a set screw.  It most likely has one, sometimes two, to keep it from spinning off in reverse.

Yes I have set that lathe up for our club and a school and there is a set screw on the faceplate. Too bad they could not have just put it with the rest of the hardware.

Thanks guys I didn't even think about a set screw.  I'll have to take a look for that.  And the other thing with the jet it seems heavy enough that I wont need to bolt it down to the bench.  Its probably about 20 pounds heavier the delta is 97 and the jet is 127 with all items attached bout a 30 pound difference between the two.  Especiallty today I want to try it out and see how well it turns.

Bolt it down or use clamps

running at about 550 RPM which seemed pretty danged fast for it faster than I'm normally used to

I thought the specs said the lowest speed is between 60 and 600 RPM's

@lew it has digital speed control.

@AndrewB I usually turn at 1050 min and max out around 1800 on spindles (note larger the piece you are turning the faster the MPH speed on outside than center at same RPM)

Yea it took me a few minutes to figure out how the belt system works on the jet but I've got it now I didn't have them set on the delta you have to go basically oposits small to large large to small but the jet you just slide the belt over.  @lew on the bench top lathe it looks like theres absolutely no way to clamp that down unless I make blocks for it to set in.

I am not sure if I've ever turned that fast with a bowl on the Delta I usually had the speed running at about number 5 or 6 on that with the belts on the max.   I tried turning at about 1000 RPM this morning seemed like it was awfully fast LOL.  This is something I'm going to have to get used to.

I start my bowl blanks just below vibration. After it is ballanced I turn at around 1100 to 1200.
