That time of the week again. 

 

Will be making a boneyard run this morning. Pilot needs some brake work done. 

Would much rather pay $10.00 a piece for rotors than $80.00-100.00 at the parts stores. 

You'd be surprised how many vehicles get junked with basically new brakes on them. 

Looks like we'll get missed by Hurricane Helene here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" though we could use some rain.

 Bought the paint for the garage about a week ago and it's been raining since, had I known I would have bought it in July.

Heading to Massillon today for a weekend wedding. Haven't been away for a weekend since summer 2022. Time flies.  

Georgia report on weather.  Retention pond at work at capacity.  And we haven't been hit yet.  Fun stuff.

Not much planned for my weekend, gonna put a coat of stain on portions of our fence where the sprinkler system is hitting it and fading it. We are packing things up step by step getting ready for the big move east. Hopefully we'll chop away at it enough so that we don't have a ton of last minute stuff to pack in about 8 months when we plan on heading out.

Making a list of deferred maintenance items to fix on our home in order to have it ready to sale.

Was in SC in Military.  Lived at this house in Georgia since 1991.  When I wasn't deployed or at our dacha in Ukraine.

Got a Dr appt this morn . Hope to get down and buy  a tractor after that. Some shop work or weed eating at the ranch this PM. More of the same tomorrow,

play rehearsal last night went well, still working on memorizing my lines.  they liked my walking staff, so now i'm making 5 more smaller ones for the shepherds (played by kids), managed to get hooks on 2 of them so far (marrying 2 pieces together).  more next week.

 

one little kid, in the back row, offered that I seemed too mean, and not nice.  that's grumpy for you kid.  

D-5 recovery and adapting since hospital parole. O2 levels fluctuating quite a bit. Won't be going outside this afternoon with wind gusts expected 50+mph due to Helene effects. I'm no match for winds like that right now. Can't do much else...feeling an afternoon nap might be warranted.

 Looks like I need to do a wheel bearing.

2020 Chevy Tahoe, 145K miles.  Erratic shifting into overdrive was complaint.  Tried a transmission fluid flush, no change.  So rebuilt unit got ordered.  Arrived and now installed.  Have to program transmission on Monday. Book time is 7.5 hours.  

Well they actually delivered the tractor yesterday and I got to play a little . Would show a video but pics will have to do for now. It is a Bad Dog. 

 

 

 

 

have to raise the berm on the range. Gonna take some work loosening the dirt up for this.

Well I can see the video on my phone but not on PC. So excited bout the tractor I forgot to show this slab I cut this morning. The tree was dead but still good wood inside . Hope to use this for a tractor shed. 
 

Bad Dog or Bad Boy?? Anyway, that video played just fine on my Mac. Nice Tractor!

Congratulations Gerald. Great purchase and thankful for ya'. I'm green 'er burnt orange with envy. IDK anything about their sub-compact tractors but if they're anything like the zero turn mowers, it'll be a beast. SiL has one of their ZT mowers. It's built like a tank.

 

To save me asking you a bazillion questions, which model did you get? I'll look the specs up from there. Curious minds and a just a old tractor junkie. I seem to recall their base models are manufactured by Kioti to Bad Dogs specs. Kioti makes really good tractors. Like any brand, good a good dealer network and support system as well as being local is equally important. Looking forward to reading more about your experiences. Be safe.

We retired and left the PNW 16 months ago. Packed up and headed east as well. You're wise to get started now, 8 months will go very fast! How far you headed?

Put in an air filtration contraption. I'm tired of eating dust and not breathing. Ugh! Hope it helps. Any advice from the collective brain trust here?

We live in the great state of Retired, er, Iowa. Yes, There are so many affected by Helene. Been hoping the best for everyone.
