Popular Post Larry Buskirk Posted August 2, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 2, 2024 Guess it's been a week since I last did this, it's Friday again folks! Been a bit HOT/HUMID this past week here "Two Weeks From Anywhere". But I'm still working at relocating the Native Wildflowers and other Native Plants that came up during this years "NO MOW MAY". Also been trading a few plants that we have for ones that we don't have with others that have "Native/Cottage/Butterfly/Chaos" type gardens. It's going to be a HOT/HUMID weekend here, so it will continue to be a slow process with plenty of breaks taken to keep from melting into a puddle out there. With that, What's on Your weekend Agenda? lew, Harry Brink, Grandpadave52 and 5 others 7 1 Quote
Popular Post Cal Posted August 2, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 2, 2024 I have a picture frame to apply finish to and a stack of mirrors and one dish to get etched. Not likely get it all done but I'll get started on it. lew, Fred W. Hargis Jr, Gerald and 5 others 8 Quote
Popular Post Gene Howe Posted August 2, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 2, 2024 More Christmas ornaments on the scroll saw. Using 1/8" BB stacks of 3. Should end up with around 50 or so. Harry Brink, DuckSoup, Cal and 6 others 8 1 Quote
Popular Post DuckSoup Posted August 2, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 2, 2024 Last visit to the endocrinologist to review test and damage done to other organs during cancer treatment. All is good with the exception of the adrenal gland that didn't survive the treatment. This was the reason for my lack of hunger and anything I did eat would taste salty, low-level steroids have solved my issues. My taste buds are still in training and a lot of flavors have not returned; we'll get there. Just happy to be here to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary today. lew, JimM, Gerald and 7 others 2 8 Quote
Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted August 2, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 2, 2024 Congrats on the anniversary Bob, ours was just yesterday. Maybe your taste buds would perk up with a donut or 2 (or some of Patti's cookies)????? lew, Grandpadave52, DuckSoup and 5 others 5 1 2 Quote
Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted August 2, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 2, 2024 A very hot, humid and steamy week with rain tossed in adding to the expereince. I managed to check a few boxes but my pace was restricted by all the snails passing me. Weekend: Yard needs mowed, but we need some drying to occur. Variety of other projects in the works depending on weather. Sunday AM, church services and responsibilities; PM, Church Family Fun Night for cookout and various games. Also helping youngest granddaughter get prepped to return to campus next week. She's a week+ earlier this year since she'll be serving as an RA. Fred W. Popular Post Larry Buskirk Posted August 2, 2024 Author Popular Post Report Posted August 2, 2024 Congrats on the anniversaries @DuckSoup, & @Fred W. Hargis Jr Taking a break from the yard for a bit. Cut down a Privet Hedge and dragged/stacked the mess to get rid of later. Also found a Native White Vervain Wildflower that I'll be moving in the yard. Should be a good contrast to the Blue Vervain that I've already moved a few of. Fred W. Hargis Jr, Harry Brink, steven newman and 5 others 8 Quote
Popular Post Gerald Posted August 2, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 2, 2024 Congrats to @DuckSoup & @Fred W. Hargis Jr Since the hose reel is done I started on a couple medium height stools. I had these speakers (Boston 9C) in upstairs closet. Had a speaker at the lathe go bad and saw that these large speakers were only 150 on eBay so it was time to use them. Sound is fantastic but needed stands so these stools are 28 tall. Doing them with 3 legs so don't have to fuss with leveling. Had a piece of Live Oak already prepped for one seat and turned some spalted Swamp Maple. Cal, HARO50, steven newman and 4 others 7 Quote

Popular Post kmealy Posted August 2, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 2, 2024 Going Saturday to judge 4-H woodworking at the Ohio State Fair. I'm doing third year seniors (14+). If my calculations are correct this is my 40th year as a parent, advisor, or judge. Had to miss one year 20 years ago when my twin grandsons were born and in NICU. Popular Post steven newman Posted August 3, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 3, 2024 Over at Lumberjocks, there was a group led by James Hamilton..aka Stumpy Nubs...that one a year we would travel to one member's house for a weekend..I have been to Vicksburg for one such meet & Greet....and even to Harrisonburg, VA.....to Charles Neil's shop...about a year before Charles passed away... There are very few of the gang left...Stumpy is still very busy doing his video things...a few of the gang have passed away....Gene Howe from here was also a member of the Gang..... There were a patch made up, for each year of the get togethers...I managed to get to 3 out of the 5....and the shop aprons they gave out, were to have those patches sewn on...but..I don't sew..
