June 21, 20242 yr Popular Post We made it to another Friday Folks! Waiting to see if Bruce calls for unloading help. He went "Curb Shopping" again yesterday. Hopefully he calls before it gets too HOT . Other than that, I'm just soaking up the COOL morning air this morning before the HEAT moves in. So, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
June 21, 20242 yr Popular Post Besides trying to keep some plants alive, I'll be indoors at least until Monday when the heat subsides just a little. At some point I need to contemplate mowing the lawn to even out the weeds, then after I contemplate doing so it will take several days to execute. But some of my indoor time will be in the shop.....so there's that.
June 21, 20242 yr Popular Post Cranking up the a/c in the shop and finishing a couple of walnut flag cases for my online store.
June 21, 20242 yr Popular Post Finished up the painting the chain link fence yesterday. The last 20' had to be hand painted due to the proximity to ours and the neighbor's house. It was only 98°. 48th anniversary today. The day we got married was the first day of summer. I joking say it was the longest day of my life the year. Getting started on rolling pin blanks for the local turner's demonstration. Need to create a jig for the angle cuts that will allow me to utilize the full height of my table saw blade.
June 21, 20242 yr Popular Post Still working on the dismantling and disposal of the yard play center. Early mornings and late evenings. It is made of wood and it is work so technically it's woodworking. Lost an old friend in the process; my old, very old, Ryobi 18v reciprocating saw (a blue one). Bought it used as part of an auction bundle a few years back. Lower bushing of the motor trashed out. A new one at Big Orange is $79 or "free" with the purchase of $99 battery/ charger bundle. Decisions, decisions. Other outdoor projects are on-going; legion of projects to choose from including a looooong list the Mrs. continues to conjure. Yard is looking shaggy but it's kind of crunchy to walk on plus the A/C on the mower doesn't seem to work when the sun is shining and it's 90° so may let that ride for a few days. It's been a long and brutal summer thus far. Remember to check out the Strawberry Moon tonight. Church Sunday. Whatever you all are doing, keep cool, stay hydrated, avoid excessive time in the sun and leave no donuts unturned.

June 21, 20242 yr Popular Post @lew Congrats , Now take her out for a meal she does not have to cook. Just lounging this morning. Got to mail off an order I had for a box I was out of stock on. Hope to get started on an AAW Exchange box today if I get the shop straightened out. Tomorrow more of the same with Church Sunday . Be good to be back as we missed the last two working on the estate cleanup. Next week my youngest is on vacation and we will be burning some and working on "the Ranch" . Yes gonna be a hot week and maybe some rain. Hey we could always stop and shoot a little.

June 23, 20242 yr Popular Post Got a clog in a shop vacuum hose. Took me a good hour to get it out. Hose is about 12 long and the biggest thing I had to get in there was an 8' cutoff. It was about 5' from one end. Tried vacuum in both directions, air pressure, massaging, stick in there, finally put in the 8' stick and pushed further with a 6' stick. No more vaccing up chips with that hose. Fits my sanders and plate joiners. Use the bid diameter one for general clean up.
