May 3, 20242 yr Popular Post Looks like it's Friday again folks. Between trying to mow around the rain, I've also been going through my stash of Oak trying to figure out if I've got enough to make a small roll around rack style Audio/Computer Media cabinet. (Enclosed cat proof cabinet) I'm not exactly sure what I'll come up with, but something similar to this. Mine won't have the glass doors because I'll be using some new Oak 21 1/2" x 10" cabinet doors, I've had stashed that were found "Curb Shopping" a couple/three years ago. That is when I'm not giving Bruce a hand unloading his "Curb Shopping" finds of which a few things are supplying materials for the above-mentioned project. Also trying to help keep his fleet of JRV's (Junk Rescue Vehicles) in shape. (Dude's hard on brakes.) That's my plan anyway, What's on Your Weekend Agenda? Edited May 3, 20242 yr by Larry Buskirk

May 3, 20242 yr Popular Post Today working on a shadow box of graduation stuff for granddaughter. Tomorrow working on the theater set with not many helpers. I am not sure about getting it all done. Two levels with fluted columns, newel posts and railings upstairs, 4 sets of stairs, back projection screen, 2 foggers (only one working), rolling semicircular platform, and motorcycle with side car. 3 weeks to go.

May 3, 20242 yr Popular Post Supposed to rain for the foreseeable future. Guess I'll putter in the basement.
May 3, 20242 yr Popular Post We're expecting rain over the next several days, but it sounds like it's not a sure bet. If I can get outside I have some more planting to do, if not I'll be puttering in the shop.
May 3, 20242 yr Popular Post Let's see: oil/filter changed Buick-check; finally finished all the mowing-check; rain arriving 24 hours or less after mowing-check To do: refill all mowing gas containers; change oil/filter/ service wife's Jeep; replace RS running light bulb in Buick; early voting for primary; grandson's soccer match; get a couple string trimmers running; church responsibilities Sunday; whole bunch of other stuff; Sequence TBD by weather, get up and go, coffee and donut reserves; oh yeah, almost forgot, weekly domestic duties and then it will be time to start mowing again.

May 3, 20242 yr Waiting on a phone call from the Nissan dealer. After ONLY 14 years, The little Frontier had a nervous breakdown. Broken coil spring, needs brakes all around, air bag inter-something on the passenger seat, change the oil while you're at it, and a couple of electronic heart monitor hook-ups and whatever else I forgot. The bill comes to roughly TWICE what I paid for my first new car back in 1971!

May 3, 20242 yr Popular Post Got the Yews in front beds dug up and learned a better way to do it. These have lots of roots going straight down so have to dig deeper to get to those. reorganized the boxes I have my store stuff in so will be easier to take down after shows. Wife has an appointment and since her fall 3 weeks ago wants me to go to . Got to go to get one more plant to cover the space left in front beds. Bought 3 already.

You must be listening to the Cincinnati Weather "Forecasters" (AKA Chicken Littles), "There is a chance that some areas could possibly see some light scattered rain." Anything over 20% chance of precip gets a "weather warning alert." And God forbid if we have some terrible weather, there is no other news other than weather and the junior reporters out in cars and under umbrellas on the sidewalks. I had to laugh yesterday when I was looking to see if I'd be able to mow the yard. "1% chance of rain." I guess that means on the very unlikely chance we get a drop or two, "Well, we told you."
