Popular Post Larry Buskirk Posted April 5, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 5, 2024 Well, what do you know, we finally made it to Friday again folks! After three pretty much solid days of rain/snow/whatever here "Two Weeks from Anywhere" we might get a break until Sunday afternoon. I'll be making the wade next door once Bruce calls to help him unload his "Curb Shopping" finds. Also, may need to make a trip to the "Mad" city (Madison)next week to help my cousin assemble an order for fifty-two computers. Other than that, not much going on here. What's on Your Weekend Agenda? Popular Post Cal Posted April 5, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 5, 2024 Today I hope to finish up (sorta) the brick walks. Came close yesterday, but no cigar. Then clean up the car for a weekend trip to the city. Daughter is getting engaged and having a party. Up on Saturday and home on Sunday late afternoon is pretty much the weekend... Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted April 5, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 5, 2024 (edited) Weather held me hostage indoors this week. Worked on some computer projects for the Mrs. as well as some domestic duties. Oldest grandson has his second baseball game first tonight at 6P. First one was canceled due to nasty weather Just in:Canceled. Tomorrow, out early for a trip close to the West side of Indy to PU some auction items. Later the culmination of the last couple months of Mondays picking up youngest grandson from choral practice will be the concert at 2P. After all this effort he summed it up, "finally, we get our free t-shirts and Subway sandwiches." Sunday, church responsibilities likely followed by a nap later. Need to get rested and prepared for the 4ish minute eclipse on Monday. Edited April 5, 2024 by Grandpadave52 Fred W. Hargis Jr, Larry Buskirk, steven newman and 4 others 2 5 Quote

Popular Post lew Posted April 5, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 5, 2024 Not much planned. Saw a bright orange light in the sky yesterday- for a brief second- then more rain showers! Cloudy and showery again today. Just saw on the news there was an earthquake in New Jersey. Nothing felt here. Hope @Cliff is OK Cal, steven newman, Gerald and 4 others 7 Quote

Popular Post Gerald Posted April 5, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 5, 2024 Just the same old stuff going on here. Wife went to make her wake up coffee this morning and power in 4 outlets was out. I checked breakers and nothing . I started looking for GFI in kitchen and den. All were ok then had a thought and one of two on the porch was out and just happened to be the one farthest from kitchen. The bright person who wired this house had no logic at all. Got plenty of GFI in shop (got at estate sale) just have to find right breaker. Fred W. Hargis Jr, Cal, lew and 4 others 7 Quote
Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted April 5, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 5, 2024 Just finished running all over 2 counties for Marie's medical appointments. She had one at each of 2 different hospitals, and they were scheduled in a way that it wouldn't be too bad...then one hospital wanted to move her time. That change mad everything a headache trying to get to both appointments on time. Might get a little shop time tomorrow, but Sunday several of the granddaughters are visiting the area to watch the eclipse and will be stopping by at our house for a short visit. A couple of great-granddaughters will be here as well. Cal, Gerald, steven newman and 4 others 7 Quote

Popular Post John Morris Posted April 6, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 6, 2024 Visited Dad today at the stroke rehab center, he is doing better. His motor skills are returning pretty good, he's walking now, with a walker. But his memory is worse than before, the way it sounds his memory will only deteriorate more at his age and with his challenges. This Monday we are picking him up and taking him to his new care facility just blocks away from us. Right now he is an hour away, and we have been visiting him every several days, at his new location we'll be able to visit at will, we could almost walk there it's so close. Have a wonderful weekend folks, stay safe, and be well! Fred W. Hargis Jr, HandyDan, HARO50 and 8 others 11 Quote

When I was junior in HS dad had to put her in nursing home. She lived long enough to see my first son . She dies after 14 years in the nursing home. All we could do on a visit is mostly sit and be with her. Hang in there and enjoy the time you have. John Morris, steven newman, lew and 5 others 2 6 Quote
Popular Post HARO50 Posted April 8, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 8, 2024 (edited) Called my BIL today to wish him a happy 90th birthday. He sounds great, but when I spoke to my sister (84 years old) I was shocked. She sounded like she was confused, and several of the things she said made no sense at all. Our daughter and grandson drove up to Sault Ste. Marie to check out his college, and since they pass within a mile of my sister's place, they dropped in for a short visit. Daughter just told me that sister looks older than BIL, and has lost a lot of weight. (She's a cancer survivor.) It's about a 9-hour drive, but I think we'll be going up before too long. It might be the last chance I get to see her. Edited April 8, 2024 by HARO50 Fred W. Hargis Jr, Gerald, Cal and 2 others 5 Quote
