Pretty much goofed off this weekend.  Loved every minute too.

Having spent many Christmas Holidays away from family and home.   I am enjoying the peace and quiet alone with my wife and some coffee.  We got up around 1000 this morning.

 

Plans for today?  Open box with her new laptop and turn it on.

 

Then a nap, maybe this afternoon we will eat lunch / supper.

 Not much , and have to remember to put the garbage out for pickup a day later. 

 

 

Bought a bunch of 10" rounds from Menards on sale.  Using this time to figure out what to do with them and maybe make some files. Did this for grandson -  he loves penquins.  Also got a couple late orders for Polish Eagles in that have to be done.

quiet day here.  might head over to the neighbors for a visit later.  only decorating i did was the large wreath on the main gate.  Linda would spend weeks decorating the house with 44 boxes of stuff each year.  now that she's gone, that's not going to happen.  did the tree and a few things last year, this year, not so much.

Thought I was done Christmas shopping Friday. Wife informed me I was not late Saturday. So after church yesterday quick trip to Big Orange for a final gift for SIL.

 

Church yesterday AM; Candlelight and communion service last night. Got the car loaded up for short drive this morning to daughter & SIL for breakfast and gift exchange.

 

All the kids are in the basement now. Me and one cat are anchoring the couch. Cat is comatose. I'm borderline awake. Lunch in about 1/2 hour. 

 

Mrs. is on vacation remainder of this week so I don't know yet what my plans are for the remainder of 2023.  Oldest granddaughter goes back tomorrow; youngest back to campus Thursday.

Got the Kissmas Tree done but no finish, thinking it may never get one. My Sunday schedule sounds like Dave's Morning church and evening Lords Supper, with finishing Kissmas tree worked in between was close. 

 

Today amazingly everyone up by 10 and oldest asleep in recliner , grandson watching video, youngest playing I think a video game, Mom in kitchen and DIL on the way to pickup her Dad. Dinner whenever Mom is ready with our help.

have a Happy Holidays, everybody!

Had one of the more interesting Christmas weekends of my life.
My darling wife decided to clean the house and figured that if Pine-Sol is good for cleaning floors, Pine-Sol + Bleach must be extra good.
She said it smelled a little weird, and by the time I got all the windows and doors in the house open and all the ceiling fans on, I managed to have a pretty good adverse reaction.  Had an impromptu camping trip out in the shop and let the house ventilate overnight.  About 48 hours later and things are back to normal.

Learning with regards to household chemical safety has occurred and bleach will not be mixed with anything in the future.

Well thank you for being the Guinea pig on this one Static! I had to google that combination and learned too that bleach with pinesol creates dangerous levels of chlorine gas! Yikes! Live and earn, and I am joyous you both lived through it! I'll let my wife know!

Went to my brothers house, and all the family that is left on this side of the ground showed! Everyone got along with nary a sound of discontent. Being the patriarch, I got a seat, and advertised for Shopsmith.
