Friday again folks! 

 

Not sure what I'll get done on this frigid Friday, It's a whole 25° with a feels like temperature of 6°. 

We might warm up to freezing. 

 

Looks like a weekend of trying to stay warm as we're not forecast to hit 40° until midweek.

Big birthday bash for our sons. Shrimp tacos on the menu.  Plus, Carne asada and various cakes, pies and sundry. Party starts around 14:00. It's an hour drive across the mountains. Phyl drives home. I don't do so well driving after dark. Especially on those twisty mountain roads. Shop time till about noon. Tomorrow it's full bore all day. About to wrap up the toys and ready to start scrolling Christmas ornaments. 

Heck, I don't do so well driving in the dark either and our roads are relatively straight! But anyway, I'll be in the shop today (I hope) still working on the rearrangement stuff which includes some new shelving.

Social day is over.  Some time in the shop is in order.

Waiting for snow. 

Mostly typical weekend. Too cold for shop time or outside work. Several end of the season football rivalry games to watch. About it

Got an order for a shallow walnut bowl. Gonna try to get it in between relatives visits.

brought 3 pies and a snacky tray.  

 

came home with 2 pies, snacky tray, container of eggnog, can of Reddy Whip (for the pies), 2 containers of leftovers, package of rolls (about 8), and a wooden olive wood spoon (party favor).

 

so i'm not cooking anything until at least sunday.  told one of ladies that my plan was to sit around, eat pie, and get fat.

 

Instead of Black Friday...I had Bracket Friday..

Entertainment center update.  Mrs. Boss says it's still a work in progress, but I think she did a great job!

 

 

I've been busy with radio stuff and work.  Studying for my Extra license, building and testing antennas, etc.

I have five more pallet wood beer cases that need to be sanded and handles put on, but SWMBO is down with the flu and would fail to see the humor of my sanding in the basement. I guess I've got to take it outside.

Been busy so did not get here yesterday. Got the finishing touches on yard decorations this afternoon. Working on last minute items for this weekend show and a few gifts. Pics when complete.

 

By the way spending 2 hours a day putting up outside decorations is telling on me. Used to do this in two days , now 6. But there is a lot more of the decorations to do also.

a few weeks ago my pastor showed me a picture of his exterior gate, think large wood door, and it's failing finishes.  oh, yeah, i can help you fix that up.  sand to bare, apply several coat of Spar urethane.  he makes notes.  i advise that it works best when it is above 50F.  so noted.  this past week, before our wed AM bible study, he finds me and shows me the after picture.  well done!  and i didn't have to do anything except advise him on what to use.  sounds like a win to me.

 

sometimes, people just need some reliable information that we have.

Spent day with Mother yesterday changing some light fixtures to LED ones.   Her future is much brighter.
