Yes it is green. I will leave it around 10 percent thickness. I will date and write the species on the tenon and then wax the inside and outside. Then put it on the drying shelf fo a year, maybe less.

Pretty fricken cool Rusty, I love how you guys do these, and get it all ready for final turning. A game of patience for sure.

You would never guess Mulberry (1680) has a higher Janka rating than White Oak (1350) as well as high rating to rot resistance.

Dave, was it you that brought some Mulberry pieces to our gathering years back? Seems like someone did, and I still have a piece from whomever brought it.

Yes, I did. Sent several pieces with @DuckSoup for he and @HandyDan. If youre running low, I can spare another truckload. Just have to cut it out of the fence rows and tree lines.. Missed the 5 year anniversary...August 25th, 2018. Great day. Sadly we've lost @IrishWoodCarversince then.
