Glued the top of the Larkin desk cabinet back together after drilling out the original broken 7/16" dowels and repairing the split outs at the dowel holes.

Had to clamp it to a couple of 2" square oak boards to deal with the opposite direction cupping of the two main sections so I could get the hinge board to line back up.

Also drilled out the torn-out screw holes and glued in plugs so I can use original sized screws when I put it back together. Last person used oversized and longer screws.

Also added a 1/2" x 1 1/2" oak cleat to the bottom between the hinge mounting areas to help keep things straight.

Glue lines not perfect due to the cupping, but at least the tops now in one piece.

Almost looks like one of @steven newman's glue ups, but I only had 7 Jorgenson and 3 bar clamps to work with.

I'll post photos in a topic later today.

I clicked that Amazon link in the original post. Easy enough to do.

Read this post before seeing the post before it that it was referring to.  To me that statement could be universally applied to nearly every situation. You know, like an 11th commandment. I'm considering making that what I want carved on my gravestone.  Then having the graveyard crew add a lightning rod to the stone.  ;)
