Did finish up that little elm bowl that had been "patiently" waiting on the lathe.

Spent some time in the shop.  Made a few 30-06 pens.  Needed to restock.  Forgot how tedious polishing brass was.

:ChinScratch:Very nice Dan, but don't you reload 30-06's?

I don't have a 30-06.  I get these from others willing to give them up.  I also have used 308, 30-30, 7mm mags, 8mm and 300 mags.

PS: Always looking for more!!!!

Still sanding scroll sawn puzzle pieces. 13 more to go. Tedium abounds. Maybe, if I'm diligent, I might get to cut some different patterns before the heat runs me back to the house.

After church yesterday, went to our favorite Mexican/ Peruvian restaurant. Keeping with a time honored tradition, took a siesta order to go.

Warden is in the building all week. She will be monitoring my "work release" program. If I understand correctly, I do the work she releases. Gotta go, hear footsteps.

Other than a garage sale find or two...not much else is going on....unless I get VERY BORED this evening...

Leather came in for the dice trays and got 5 of the boxes glued up and dyed. Now 3 more to sand out and dye. Then time for lacquer. Oh and now the wife dropped hint that she would like some for her Bunko club so the dice don't go off table. Oh well can't win for losing .

Went down to son's place he calls the Ranch yesterday. Took the puppy out and she got a tick. Bet mom doesn't let us do that again.

@John Morris I found this video behind the good one you gave and it has much more info.

@Grandpadave52

Don't feel bad, I'm still getting "The Look" because the wife's Komputator quit when I tried to turn it on. (Unsupervised)

Busy week, couple new guys plus a new service writer.  Lets complicate things further by the Service Manager going on vacation mid-week.

Good news is that my son left for Merchant Marine Academy, for his SENIOR year!!!  Next June after he graduates, he has informed me that he is leaving on 1st ship available.

Glad you're posting again Gunny; know you've gone through some challenges with work, but great to have ya' back.

Bitter-sweet with your son. Wishing him all the best his final year at the MMA. I'm guessing he'll never be without a job opportunity.

Been kinda quiet round here without ya. Good to hear from you again. Know papa is busting his buttons.

Just working on "stuff" and keeping busy.  Gots to mow the lawn today, hope to get it done this morning before the afternoon heat comes in.  Also have some trim that I milled and glued up yesterday that needs paint.

Tomorrow and later in the week, put up a (fascia?) above the upper cabinets in the garage.  Wife says that's a lot of wasted space - I say I can't easily reach that high, and to close it off will keep birds from building nests up there.  Then I have the base cabinets to finish fitting drawers and move them into place... requiring more trim to mill, paint and install.  I'm shooting to be done with the garage by year end :D

You and your son are to be congratulated Gunny...he deserves a big applause. As for the work stuff, oh well.....s$$t happens.

little fix up today, replaced the assembly that holds the shim on the door frame:

first pic is version 1, and the little shelf for the shim didn't last very long around shotgun muzzle blasts.

so second pic is version 2, one piece of lumber, glued and screwed to the longer 2x2 piece, and both shielded and reinforced with some perforated angle iron (it's what i had laying around).  should be a little more stout.

Busy shop, probably busiest I have worked at in 30 years.   Afraid to sit down, might collapse.  :throbbinghead:

Really need to revise my pay plan though.  Should get paid by footfall for all the running around.
