OrganizerCaseneededleveled.JPG.dd676513dea5f8c16392a914c4e46ddd.JPG

OrganizerCasebothbackcornersdone.JPG.8c5e1031e6bc026b8a24e7a380841c61.JPG

Getting better?   This is to be the back of the case...the front will have a couple shallow drawers, and the front of a tray under the lid.

Will fit up the drawers next time.....while I am getting the panel for the base square up and leveled...right now?:WonderScratch:

OrganizerCase.panelfortheBase.JPG.d1b5ef24f1a7a52aed4eec8e7fa2121b.JPG

It is waiting on glue to dry....6 strips, resawn to ~5/8" thick, edges ripped square and parallel...:ChinScratch:

Have a NEW 4' LED Shop lite from Harbor Freight hanging up, right over the Tablesaw....even brighter than the other 2 in the shop....

Day #2...Work on the front of the box...parts needed cut to length..:SaluteandRun:

OrganizerDay2Mitresaw.JPG.9d68fcc1bf4bd19788dfd4871df83cfc.JPG

On the Cordless Mitersaw, of course...:ChinScratch:

OrganizerDay2cuttolength.JPG.1a1a58f00a25f0d8630ba4fa4293a703.JPG

No cloud of dust in the air, no screaming motor...where is the fun in that? :DevilLaughing:  Some of the ends were a bit "Knotty", though...:WonderScratch:

OrganizerDay2Knottybutsquare.JPG.e1f948529ffe07c45efccb397c85fefc.JPG

Note that reflection in the saw blade?   Shows the saw is cutting a perfect 90 degree cut...parts laid out?

OrganizerDay2laidoutparts.JPG.86f2a59ca5ca52e23b28fcf82b9be118.JPG

I used the back of the box to help lay out the sizes...:OldManSmiley:

OrganizerDay2partsforthefront.JPG.d75b97a443372755aff6b3218a4cb060.JPG

2 drawer fronts, a strip to cover the edge of the plywood drawer runner.  And the front of the top tray..

Got the grooves milled..:SaluteandRun:

OrganizerDay2gettinggroovy.JPG.e53a1cfb715e8121b3b274ce6380ff60.JPG

Used the tablesaw for the grooves, BTW...I also cut 2 plywood panels, and fitted them...:ChinScratch:

OrganizerDay2fittingthepanels.JPG.cdb8d4ab52c59f9d4673938df4f428ff.JPG

The piece for the front of the tray needed a rebate to house(hide?) the front edge of the plywood "floor" :OldManSmiley:

OrganizerDay2traybottomfitted.JPG.46dd750cddeff11b3dadb0a87c824adc.JPG

Front piece gets dovetailed to the sides of the box...which will be the next item on the Task List...

Then start on the 2 drawers...drawer front will need a 1/4" rebate along the bottom edges, to allow for the plywood drawer bottoms.....sides and backs need to be cut to size needed..then the drawers can be glued up..hopefully square...MIGHT get to that task this coming weekend....we'll see.:ChinScratch:

Stay tuned :cowboy:  ( BTW: This is a 2 drawer version of a Paul Sellers'  "Desktop Organizer"  that the Single Brain Cell Sketch Up has adapted to)

Love it Steve, and thanks for the tags :)

If anyone doesn't quite understand the benefit of tagging your topics, and content in our community, go ahead and click on the tag "ash".

The purpose is, if anyone wanted to see topics that contained the wood ash, they will find them. Say for example, a passerby or member, would like to see some ideas to have some "ash" fun in their shop because they have some ash they want to make something from, they can click on the tag "ash" and see inspiration for their beloved stash of ash.

The same could be said if you click on Steve's tag "dovetail", you'll see how folks here have used their dovetails, it's a great research tool, the tags.

BTW, nice work so far.
