Beautiful bowl Mike.  Tell me about the bottom signature and stuff.  Is it two rings that you done on the lathe and then sharpied in the name, date & wood species or do you use a CNC machine, or ?

Hello Cal

Thanks for your comment and question.

Believe it or not the black rings are simply done with a ball point pen and the lathe on slow speed.

Normally the two circles are just pen ink but in this case the bic pen didn't want to make a clean line I guess because of the different wood density.

to fix that i switched to a sharpie to fill it in. The finish is several coats of Minwax wipe on poly and doesn't bother the ink.

Ask any questions and thanks for looking in.
