Friday June 2nd 2023-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

 Looks like it's Friday again Folks.

:ChinScratch: Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" it's been HOT! :Hot:

We've been setting record high temperatures for the past few days, and it looks like we'll be doing so for today and tomorrow also.

Still no rain for us as it's been passing West, and Southeast of us the past two days. Sure could use some as we've entered drought conditions again after having a small surplus of precipitation a month or so ago.

I've been doing what I can yardwork wise, trying to stay out of the direct Sun trimming trees/bushes from the heavy wet snow damage done in late April, cutting up seasoned in place trees for Winter firewood, and transplanting Wildflowers, Etc..

Not easy when the trees you're trimming are one of the main contributors to the current "High Pollen Alerts" Achoo! Achoo! Achoo! :Punched:

Oh Well, as I sneeze my way across the yard,

What's on Your Weekend Agenda? :WonderScratch:

Been fairly warm here, too. B)

Not a lot going on in the shop. Fiddling with the scroll saw. Trying out different blade and wood combos. Found out that well seasoned 7/8" red oak is tough to cut with a scroll saw.

Gonna be hot.  Probably spend time in the cool basement shop.

Hot seems to be the flavor of the day. Could use some rain here, too. Still chipping away at the "I need you to help me" list.

Gonna be hot here too but you don't have to shovel it. Haircut day today. 6x longer driving there and back than to get the job done. A few errands planned while up in Boilertown. Sunday church responsibilities in AM, then Family Fun Night in the evening. One of the events is a Spam cook-off. Hope there's plenty of sweet-tea on hand.

BTW, Today is...th-88721576.jpg.1d6b983af012e65eb8144ff559ca81a0.jpg so enjoy one or two of those circular centerline delicacies.

Hot, in the 90's today with possible thunderstorms in the forecast later. Big change tomorrow with temperatures dropping into the low 60's for the next few days. Isn't this June?

Certainly re-certified it for another year I'd say. You're probably sleeping like a baby tonight too?

Is that adjustable square a Starrett? Definitely has some features of one.

We've been having some excellent temps since getting home, mid 80's and that is forecast to continue on into next week.  Unfortunately it has stopped raining.  I understand there was a big rain one or two days while we were gone, but nothing since, a slight chance this evening it says...

A good bit of my weekend will be spent at the computer   Doing some homework to find another car (ours has been declared a total loss) and gathering up a few comps that I can find in the market to rebut any low-ball offer they make to me.  Also on the computer working on a couple design ideas for mirror gifts.

If I make it to the shop I have cabinets waiting to be hung and drawer faces to work on.

Over the last two days I managed to install baseboard (used Hardiboard) in the upper garage that I've been working in.  That was three hours to install the bb and 9 hours to shuffle stuff around so that I could get to the walls!

This weekend has been busy.  Worked on some stuff in the garden for the wife, took some doughnuts over to @Masonsailor, and picked up a bunch of Sapele that he was kind enough to wrangle from SoCal.  I have zero idea what I am going to make with that yet but it is beautiful, clear, wood that deserves to be part of something nice.   Now its back to the shop to work on a new bed to make the wife happy.

Spent the morning at the furniture bank.  We'll be relocating the whole shop next week (if the electrician work gets done), so we were prepping enough cut parts so we can hace volunteers in and build tables over the next couple of weeks.

Got another coat of finish on the 7 picture frames this afternoon.  Dry and sand next, then add a bit o toner

Back at furniture bank Monday for more prep and Tuesday to lay out locations for power, dust collectors and tools.

We are getting a few projects for the neighbors wrapped up and also beginning the prep for making the doors. Tomorrow I will do the mock up’s for the Tectus hinges and the wenge inlay on the top of the doors.

Spent the past couple of days working on cleaning up the woods on the west side of house.

Been a couple or so years since the last time going through it.

I hate those :ArguingSmileys: Buckthorns! <_<

Busy week at work, our normal.  Been working on clean up throughout the shop each night.   Unlike the rest of you we have not been to hot.  Rather cold for this time of year here, and wet.  Like monsoon season it seemed for last month or so.
