Sorted the last of the Ash scraps...resaw most of it down..

Sorted out for 4 slabs at the same thickness....ripped those to the same width...as for squaring the ends...:OldManSmiley:

Mitre gauge set to 80 degrees?:WonderScratch:

2 long sides, and a pair of ends....10 degree bevel complicates things a bit, though..:WonderScratch:

Trace around these Pins, to lay out the tails...saw and chop...dry fit..B)

Glue up..after a full day of other things to do...

Plywood on top of the tablesaw...flat surface to work off of..all laid out, awaiting the bottle of glue and a brush to moosh it around with..:OldManSmiley:

Bottom 4 clamps first, check for square...then add the upper level of clamps...check for square again..diagonal clamp to pull until it is square..:OldManSmiley:

Let this sit overnight...:Tapping:

 

Today?  Remove the clamps and cauls..

Did not want to try to clean this mess up with a hand plane, so..

Bottom edge and top edge are now flt...working on filling any gaps...:ChinScratch:

Slab under the tray will be the "bottom" and is 1/8" thick Ash....spread a bit of glue around..:Cheer:

Add 3 cauls across, for the clamps to hold onto...letting this sit until tomorrow,,,then trim the bottom down to size..:OldManSmiley:

Finally made it here.

Thanks. Good thread. Easier to follow start to finish here. Might just inspire someone else too down the road.

Love the angled sides. My first (and last) attempt at angled dovetails was a miserable failure.

1st coat of Amber Shellac will be getting sanded down, this evening...

 

Dealing with Blood Sugar spikes, at the moment....not fun...:ArguingSmileys:

 

Sanded to 220, and wiped down...

Cool beans Bandit. Another project we'll done. Guess you'll have to glue up some scrap, scraps and carve out some spoons now.:P
