Jim DeBoer, 92, from Iowa, made all of these tractors out of wood. They have movable and removable parts. He began carving when he was 12 years old. Each takes between 80 and 100 hours to complete. Just amazing!

I have garage painted; on to hanging some trim and touch up paint and then back to drawer builds.

Expecting company Sunday for Easter; so I need to spend a couple three days outside.  Mowing, pruning, may get a good day to burn debris again.

A trip to Urgent Care for a persistent eye irritation, followed by a B-day lunch of Sashimi at our favorite Sushi place. Then, back home for some left over B-day cake from Saturday's family celebration, then a nap. Probably, no shop time, today.

Unload and repack the garden shed for seasonal change. Get the mower in shape. Rototill the garden if the weather stays nice.

Couple of nice days to start week.  Grass is greening up and is getting ready to mow up close to the house.  Time to get the mowers ready.

Monday is "just wait" day for me this week.  Tomorrow I should receive the Ego chain saw I order so I can try and get rid of the tree that dropped in my yard.  I did remember I needed to update my registration tags on my vehicles, so did that this morning.  Debating if I should take my E-motorcycle with cargo box to pick up the Pizza I ordered at noon :cowboy:, or discard the potential adventure and take my Chevy Bolt.   :(

At Dr to have another followup on the knee. A little cleaning in shop and then maybe prep blanks from wood I got couple weeks ago. Do some turning and prep for a show we hope come off Saturday.

About to go out the door and the phone rings. Somebody just sneezed, coughed, and then hung up.

Really getting tired of these cold calls.

Busy last few days. Survived the severe weather and daughter/SIL move. Helped out there again yesterday afternoon getting boxes unloaded, kitchen + dining area cleared & organized and a little outside work done. Resting up a bit today.

Week ahead; several meetings at church; more business finalizing step-fathers estate. Getting yard debris form 9 week-ends of high winds cleaned, think about prepping lawn equipment and so on. So much to do, so little ambition to get started.

Regardless of your plans, work safe this week and be weather aware. For us midwesterners another round of severe storms in the offing Tuesday and Wednesday.

AWESOME!! Loved this video. Thanks so much John for sharing.

As an old farm equipment mechanic almost all with John Deere dealerships in my first career,  the detail, accuracy and scale of his work is spectacular. His creation of the old "Johnny Poppers" aka 2 cylinder tractors and especially his 4020 with the cab is just unbelievable. Even down to the detail of removable wheel weights. WOW!

His amazing carving of a JD, EV series chain saw brings back memories too. I still have one of those. Made by Echo for Deere.

Did the one thing today that I look forward to all year, had my Dental checkup.:P Then take Marie in for a visit with the family doctor, then off to the paint store. The paint I bought for some exterior trim work just isn't holding up, it's starts peeling after 2years, even over oil based primer. It's a brand I never liked and I'm not sure why I bought it but I went to SW to get some of their best exterior mixed to the same color. The gal there did exactly that...it's a perfect match, and it was on sale. Good thing, too. The price of many of their paint were over $100/gallon! I bought a quart, which was regular $35, but with the 35% sale price came down to $21 or so. This is their best exterior acrylic, so I hope it lasts a little longer.

About time to think about emptying the snow blower gas tank, and checking the battery on the lawn tractor before spring clean up. Scheduled to get shots in my back tomorrow morning,  Hopnig for the best with that.  Didn't get to use the snowblower myself this winter because of my back but hired help to clear the snow.

Sure hope they work for you Al.  I'm in the camp that they did work.  IIRC, the first couple may have been a month or two apart and that lasted about a year.  A single shot that time and it has been over a year now.  Had a scare a few weeks back but was able to take care of it without going for another shot.  I hope you have similar, or better, success Al :)
