antique tools for antique guys....ugh, i thought getting old would take longer.

Lathe quit running yesterday just when I was ready to quit.  Think it's the switch.  It sure gets used quite a bit.

Charging the battery on the ZT mower. It's time to use it. Some of our neighbors have already begun mowing. 

Prepped Phyl's coffee table for resin Saturday. Seal coat today. Then, back to the scrollsaw stand build. 

 

Gotta replace a small section of the fence with a gate. Sorta waiting to it's a little warmer and not as wet.

 

Need to order a replacement above ground pool, too, the old one finally bit the dust last year. This one will be a bit smaller- less chemicals and water. I suggested this but someone failed to see the humor in it-

we have a pool, we also have a pond... the pond would be good for you....

We have a pond, too! Every time it rains and fills the low spot in the yard 

Finally made some progress on the wife’s entry table.

Mortises are layed out and will be cut out today.  Still waiting on my dado stack to get back to cut a ridiculous number of tenons.

 

 

i have a weak tree that fell into my pond.  super, now i have another spring project:  remove the tree.

Couple guys from the woodworking club finished up the cornhole boards today for the Assoc. for the Blind's fundraiser.  16 of them.

 

Guess who worked in the shop, today....

Got a pair of doors glued up  Did a bit of resaw work, too..

ran a jointer..

And smoother..

Because some of these needed flattened...

Alright, I think aliens abducted @steven newman and replaced him with a look alike!  We all know he never works on Mondays 

Took care of some financial business related to step-fathers estate today in Boilermakerville, then stopped by Menards and Rural King along with a couple of other stops. I'll unload the various bird seeds and dog food tomorrow.

 

Meeting at the church Wednesday night. Weather forecast doesn't present too well for much outside or garage work this week. Oldest grandson (turns 12 on the 27th), served as a legislative page today at the Indiana Statehouse. Quite an honor. I'm still 1/2" taller than he is though; well this week anyway. Traveling across state Friday to PU youngest granddaughter for her spring break week.

 

In a bit of irony, 2 years ago today I made the trek home from Boilermakerville after a week in the hospital and paying a total stranger to stab me in the back. However, being gone caused me to miss my nap today and today was National Napping Day. Who knew?

After doing PT and trip to Sam's got into shop late. Starting rounding up materials for drawers on wifes side table . Also sorted thru stock for making a dice board,

I've passed on watching a certain movie for some time now (Redbox rental), it just didn't look like the kind of movie Marie and I would enjoy. However, the movie swept the Oscars (accoridng to the news, I didn't watch the ceremony) so I went ahead and rented it so we could watch it last night. I just want to point out that an Oscar award (or 7) does mean the movie is good.....it just means, well, I guess I don't know what it means. The movie was awful (IMHO) and that's 2 hours+ I could have been sleeping.

Found time to work on the lathe yesterday.  Changed out the control box and we're back in business.  Big smiles all around.

The switch is deep in the assembly.  May be the first item into the box at the assemble plant.  Lots of wires.
