Supposed to be warm and dry until later in the week.  Will be working on a set of base cabinets for the garage and cleaning out the upper garage.  Got to mow the lawn one day too, and soon.  If it does rain later in the week will try and finish up our taxes.

Base/stand to put my metal cutting compound miter saw on should arrive today.  I'll be moving it down to my utility room where the metal mill and metal cutting bandsaw lives. Time to start clearing off the table that tool sits on to make some assembly/clamping space in my garage.  As the weather warms up I spend more time out there.  When cold out there my use consists of darting out to make a table saw cut or run a board through the drum sander.   When warm I get in a cleaning mood and clear off tables to make it easier to get work done out there.

Putting finish on a bunch of recently turned bowls.

Screwed up a little bowl I was playing with. Need to have my finger thickness gauge recalibrated. Worked on taxes but must have made a mistake. Shows we are due a refund. Better recheck those numbers.

Don't expect it fast, we just got our 2021 refund on the 6th of February.

Now I can't get an answer as to whether or not I have to claim the few dollors interest the I.R.S. paid on the 2021 refund on the 2022, or 2023 taxes since it wasn't paid until 2023. The person on the answer line at the I.R.S. had to ask a manager, and they didn't know either. We'll if they don't know, I sure as heck don't either.

Been down that road for the past several years.

Youngest grandson team went 1-1 yesterday. League moved them up. Both games were against 4th grade teams. Later had a nice family gathering, meal celebrating daughters birthday.

Mrs and I have a date this afternoon. Going to doctors office for annual wellness checks and some additional checks. After, headed to Boilertown to PU daughters van from dealer then delivering to her at work. Some warranty work was done. Keeping a close eye on weather too. We're under a Tornado Watch, but several warnings have been issued in the last hour in adjacent counties.

Remainder of week has some  meetings at church along with errands. Garage time will be dictated by the ever changing weather seasons expected this week.

Went to the furniture bank this morning.   Fixed one dresser and with a crew of 6 from a local construction company, made 30 tables by in two hours.   Also did some brainstorming on making some downdraft tables.

This afternoon, glued up some boxes for Children's Hospital.  While I don't ever use all my clamps, I frequently use all the clamps of a certain size or type and have to either quit for a while or ad lib clamping.  Nothing like using a 36" clamp to hold together a 5x10" box.

Got a tornado warning earlier this afternoon and heard that one had been spotted about 8 miles NE of home, but no problems here.  I was working in the basement.  Wife came home and heard there was 100 mph wind at one point along the way but she had no problem.

gave away a walnut bowl i made yesterday, she seemed to like it a lot.  and a good sermon followed on Ephesians 1.  grocery shopping this AM, feeling tired (didn't sleep well), so just waiting for some bowl blanks to arrive.  just nice to have some in hand for when you feel like making a large pile of sawdust.  and a bowl maybe.

Just heard on the news, marble sized hail just 10 miles east of home.  Missed that one.

Big storm blew through about 12:45P EST here. Temperature was in mid 60's. High wind with roar that truly sounded like a train. With the wind and heavy rain, zero visibility for about 10 minutes.

Storm front passed quickly. Besides numerous things blown over and strewn about, several small to medium size limbs scattered around, we were surprised by this. Wife took first picture shortly after. I took the other two after Doctors appointment and errands. I'll call insurance agent tomorrow.

Don't remember exactly when I planted these but likely 25-30 years ago. Blue spruce on each end. This one was a Norway Fir IIRC.:( At least it fell to the NE otherwise would have been into power lines &/or onto the road. No rest for the wicked they say.

Been busy today. Had PT this morning. After eating I went to the shop for an hour working on upcoming show product. Then off to eye exam just the annual thing. Back to the shop when I got home so now one tired puppy. Finally got started doing a couple whistling tops. Not much for sales but fun to watch the kids when the top whistles.

I saw that on the news...and the suspected tornado in Butler county apparently did some serious damage to a few homes over there. One pic showed a house with the roof decking torn off over a large area.

Dave, do you have a basement to get to in these situations?  Glad you didn't have any other damage done.

No shop time yesterday.  The four of us just lazed around till noon. Went out to eat at a cafe in Marana's little airport. Watched the sky divers. Then, spent the afternoon on the patio playing word games.

Today, the SIL and Phyl are going grocery shopping and a trip to the beauty shop for hair cuts. The BIL and I will head up the road about 50 miles to meet a few other wood butchers for lunch then, we'll all congregate at the mesquite yard. Might grab a few slabs of mesquite and, maybe some Acacia. It'll be good to see those other guys. We haven't got together since before the pandemic. Should be a great time.

Light snow here near the coast.  Warming up a bit so this might turn to rain.  March is just a day away!  Dr appointment today for my back.

No. We do have an old school root/storm cellar but in recent years it has a tendency to flood. It must be close to 90 years old. It does have a concrete floor, walls and ceiling. This storm came up so quickly and without any real warnings other than the Tornado Watch we were under. Probably just straight line winds but rotation was reported in the cloud mass. No reports of any touchdowns in the area nor any significant damage by any of the neighbors. Ground was/is wet but not that soft.  Also broke off an old peach tree and broke off several limbs in an apple tree which are close by. IDK?
