Guns, swords, and architecture, Oh My! The Governors House, Colonial Williamsburg. Note the pistols over the right side door, I'd sure like to hire that interior decorator!

See how many hands make light work, as our carpenters - and a few friends - raise the walls for the drying shed at the new brickyard. Constructed on site with traditional timber framing techniques (and a few modern ones to satisfy building codes), this post-in-ground structure was typical for colonial Virginia's industrial buildings. Turned a bunch of bowls that need finished and made a mess that needs cleaned up.

Monday?  Again?  This begins the week that a CNC mini milling machine might show up.  I'm slowly throwing out crap to clear space in my utility room for the mill and associated metal cutting tools.  I keep finding memory lane distractions among the boxes, and get distracted for too long.  Old sketchbooks and such reveal forgotten ideas never realized, and where some of my best projects got started. Stuff the newspaper should look through when writing up my obituary.   Evidence of a creative life lived. I need to quit looking in every box I pull down and simply condense stuff to fewer shelves so I can take down a shelf unit to make room for a tool.

Mine will be mostly photos from the post office wall :throbbinghead:

Monday?   Monday?   Yuck...After the way work in the shop went over the weekend......Grrrrrrrrr

Camera Issues:    IF I just take 4 photos, go upstairs, down load those 4...then return to the shop and take 4 more...camera will not delete them.....IF I take MORE than 4 photos...camera will delete the "extras"......NOT the way I want to get my Cardio Workout.....

Bad enough using the coping saws...

Doing some resin work on Phyl's coffee table. Filling those inevitable mesquite worm holes with blue resin. Might get the final over all pour done. tomorrow. But, then again, maybe not.

Not much over the weekend but just saw a robin in the front yard!

I haven't seen thew Robins yet, but we do have a few buzzards flying around, that's about a month early for them.

Looks like I might get some time in the shop today, working on some tissue box covers.

:ChinScratch: Let's see now, I watched most of the snow melt over the weekend, might just watch the rest melt today. :DayDreaming:

Saw my first one today also. Came in early with the other ground feeders. Has to be a good sign?

We have had a yard full of robins for almost a week. Had a Great woodturning meeting Saturday and for my first long day out in the six weeks since surgery did good but wore me out.

At doctors office for the post PT visit. Hope to get turning this afternoon but don wants to go to Sam’s.

As to guns at the Governor’s mansion, those belonged to the colony and would be used by the militia. In the ceiling are lots of pistols. Got pics when I get home.

Yesterday afternoon, made it to youngest grandsons basketball double-header. Game 1 they played the team they lost to on a last second 3 last weekend. This game wasn't close after half-time. His team won by 15. Second game was ugly, but they finally won it by 9.

After Mrs. & I went to Chili's for "lupper." We haven't been out like that for some time. Made it home in time to see the last 10 laps plus the bonus 12 laps of Daytona 500. They should just make it the Daytona 25+OT.

Domestic duties today, a couple church meetings this week. Perhaps some time playing pick-up sticks and maybe some garage puttering since we're supposed to have spring weather until Friday.

vittles procured, bowl turned.  nap?

I'm a little surprised the stair balusters and posts aren't canons or other weapons .  In any case that sure is a creative ceiling treatment.

Takes a lot to equip a Militia Regiment....
