February 16, 20233 yr Popular Post For those new to woodturning there is a dance you have to learn to be a good woodturner. Feet positioning and movement are some of the keys to this dance. Well needless to say my dance has been impaired as of late but is getting nearer to normal. My last day of PT is Friday and for the last 10 days have been working on boxes for my two therapists. The walnut came from the Methodist church about18 years ago. Finish on the walnut is Watco as I do not know of a easier and better finish for it. Tops have clear gloss Watco Lacquer. these are about 5 inches wide. Edited February 16, 20233 yr by Gerald
February 16, 20233 yr They are going to love those. Tell them not to wish for another one. You don't need to go back and see them any time soon.
February 16, 20233 yr So glad you getting your groove back Gerald, and it shows in those beautiful boxes. Hey, by the way, hasn't the wood turning world figured out how to name those round vessel thingys you all turn something else beside a "BOX". Box: a container with a flat base and sides, typically square or rectangular and having a lid. Ya ya I know, shoot me! Well the definition does say "typically" not "always" so I guess you guys can skate on that!

And I left of that the lids are Persimmon in front and ash in back. @John Morris You don't see all the boxes I do but it amazing what people can come up with as a lidded container. A great deal of the time called a jewelry box.
