September 23, 20223 yr Popular Post Friday again, where the heck did the rest of the week go? Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" the mad rush continues getting the neighbors vans ready for the fall "Curb Shopping" season. (Starts in one week) This past week was spent replacing the Pitman Arm on his 2005 Chevy 3500 Express, removing/replacing the rear hitch with the Heavy Duty hitch from the boneyard, replacing the rear bumper, installing a front hitch reciever, electronic trailer brake controller/light wiring, undercoating the bottom side, installing a transmission cooler, and this morning will be reinstalling the front bumper. Still needs to get it in for a windshield before we can install the Heavy Duty roof rack that might require the help of a couple of Gorrila's and a small boy to get on the van. Also need to do a quick once over on his 2000 Express. Might get around to rewiring the landscapers trailer he bought on the cheap that whoever rewired tied the electric brakes to the passengers side turn signal/brake light. Still need to pull the dash on the Pilot so I can put out the "No Vacancy" sign on the "Mouse Motel" by screening off the outside air intake for the HVAC blower motor housing. So, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

September 23, 20223 yr Popular Post Now that Fred so kindly set me straight, I might get one Limbert table assembled, today. But, we have a date to go out for breakfast with a neighbor widow lady. And, Phyl has some shopping to do at Lowes. More plants! So, might postpone the assembly till the morrow. TBD.
September 23, 20223 yr Popular Post Mrs Boss is going on an out-of-town shopping trip with her girlfriends this weekend leaving me and wookie-boy on our own. Looks like she would learn ! It would be a great time to make unapproved tool purchases The shop ac unit is blowing water inside again. Need to clean the coils to see if that solves the problem. .40
September 23, 20223 yr Popular Post Finishing up the fall house cleaning. Upstairs and downstairs carpets cleaned, walls and woodwork washed, curtains fluffed and puffed, furniture all vacuumed and dusted, windows washed, landscaping lights repaired. There's a shingle that needs replaced but I'm not allowed on the roof after the last ladder incident.
September 23, 20223 yr Popular Post Mowing today, and maybe replacing an exterior lamp that needs replaced....along with wondering how in the world someone could wire the trailer brake to the turn signal lights on that trailer Buskirk mentioned. Seems like you would notice something is awry.

Sorry for the fuzzies, had to shoot from the middle of the auditorium with existing light. For scale, the "volcano" is 14' tall plus a 6" rolling platform.

Best fortune to you as you turn the next chapter of life. Get plenty of rest...you're going to need it.
September 23, 20223 yr Popular Post Little planned for the weekend. Finally seemed to have turned the corner and moving toward the finish line with this COVID stuff. Been out piddling a couple hours/day past 3 afternoons but seem to tucker out quickly. Couple of those days got overheated pretty quickly. Per CDC's ever moving latest quidelines, I should be cleared to resume contact with people Sunday so plan to resume church responsibilities.

I'm not going to bother trying to figure out the spaghetti bowl of wiring in the several rolls of tape wrapper. I'm just going to cut everything back to the pigtails and rewire from there. Needs a new pair of taillights anyway. Bruce has a few sets of delivery tow lights from a school bus company, I'll wire in the backup lights while I'm at it.

I picked up a handy pile on Thursday . . . Made a nice display bench yesterday / today from the pile, can finish Folding Table No. 5 with the proceeds, and have a few more parquet blocks planned. That piece of wood on the left has already been made into a nice display bench. Cut-offs from another's projects. Big piece of old straight-grained fir! 21 hours ago, lew said: Finishing up the fall house cleaning. Major basement cleaning this week. Tuesday, saw three roaches. And I've NEVER had a roach issue. Tuesday, a few more. You get the idea. Cleaned the basement on Wednesday, sprayed the perimeter. Thursday morning, roach graveyard especially in the corner under the window. Friday, fewer dead. This morning, just five dead. Hate the spray but it worked. Want to vac the perimeter again and put down a powder. 20 Mule Team Borax. Yee-Haa! Love this assembly! My kind of art!

September 24, 20223 yr Popular Post Have a big green tub to sort through, today... But, why did this cost me $10? Hmmm..... Hmmm.. Wonder what goodies reside in there? Still sitting out on the back patio..just in case.... need to do an Inventory...make take a while....
September 24, 20223 yr Started turning an Itauba bowl blank, got a catch while hollowing and tore the tenon off. $70 in the scrap pile. Itauba is a South American hardwood yellowish brown in color. It is very hard and brittle. Dulls HSS rapidly. Carbide faired much better. .40
