June 20, 20223 yr My Monday is coming early now. Have to clean up the shop tomorrow to prep for some hands on training in pen turning for a HS shop teacher Thursday. Had a Woodturners meeting yesterday, the real Saturday. So no real shop time then.
June 20, 20223 yr The weekend was so nice almost got caught up on yardwork. Since we go back into the oven the week, I'll be in the shop at least a few hours to apply the finish to daughter's tray tables and maybe start on the drink stand she wants. Somewhere in here I want to get back to the range and do some more shooting.
June 20, 20223 yr Monday? MONDAY? Shop might just be closed for today....need to do some figuring...before any more sawdust gets made.... Working on the lid for a box, this week...MIGHT just get the "Hobbit Tool Chest" done by July 1st, maybe? Wondering what and where for handles....
June 20, 20223 yr Popular Post Cleaning and organizing. It never seems to get finished. MIGHT get around to band sawing some limbert table legs. Those mesquite rounds...sorta roundish...that will be the table tops, are begging for attention. If it's not too hot, I may do the roughing outside. Brave the sun and, heat or, make the mess in the shop. Decisions, decisions. It'll only be 98° today. By the time I get around to the mesquite, it'll be back to over 100°.
June 20, 20223 yr Busy, busy weekend. Back is feeling the results too. Back to work on grandaughter's car. Evacuate & charge A/C, finish headlight deglaze & polish, install new grill + trim. Yard needs re-mowed, auction spoils need located, some refurbed, some re-homed. Continued work on my advanced PhD's. Youth baseball tournament series begins tonight. Sad note, sometime later this week will be a funeral for a close friend and fellow deacon who passed Saturday afternoon. Waiting to hear yet on arrangements. Edited June 20, 20223 yr by Grandpadave52

June 21, 20223 yr Popular Post No wonder I missed this @John Morris posted it Sunday the 19th. Spent about an hour or so with a borrowed metal detector looking for my wedding ring. No luck. Might help if I knew what the heck I was doing with it. Have to go get a new ignition switch for the zero turn mower today, won't be mowing going to be too . SWMBO is gone until sometime Thursday staying with granddaughter while stepson/ and his SWMBO are taking a road trip. Getting to for this "Batching" crap.

Typical of my ADD, I didn't even get started cutting the Limbert legs or, cleaning the mesquite. I did get a stand made for the Shopsmith belt sander. One step closer to organizaton. Only 978 more steps to go. Today will be a trip to HD. Need some rigid foam to lay on the bench for rough cutting those legs with a jig saw. Plus, I have a 100' extension that was necessary at the mountain homestead. Now, every thing has a battery. So, I'll cut the cord into 4 lengths and, pick up the cord caps at HD.

June 21, 20223 yr Author Popular Post 2 hours ago, Larry Buskirk said: Was wondering if it was just me until I looked at todays date, Yesterday, Monday, started a new schedule for our son, he just graduated HS, and he is joining the Army in October, but between now and then he needed a job, so he landed a job with a remodeling construction company, they specialize in office remodels. Looks like it's full time, the only catch is he has to be at his buddies home where they carpool to the project sites around SO CAL, so he needs to be there by 4:30am. The knuckle head won't have his drivers license till September, so who's on the hook to get him to his carpool roundup? Yep, ol Dad. Normally I wake up at 4am to get ready and leave home by 5am to arrive work by 6 am, now I gotta wake up at 3:30am to get our son to his carpool, then I just take off from there to work, and arrive work early, my routine is all messed up! But hey, our boy has a good job for a few months, we are proud he didn't choose to sit around after HS grad till he ships out with the Army, actually he would never have a choice, I'd kick his but off the sofa if I saw that happening. So, thus the reason I created the Monday topic on Sunday night, knowing I'd just be too danged tore up at 3:30 am to write the topic. Not only that, but I'd have to wake up at 3:15 am to get the topic created and posted if I did it Monday morning, so from now till son leaves home for Army, I'm creating the Mon topic Sun night. So fun having adult kids! The silver lining, it's kinda nice just my son and I, early in the AM heading off to work together, we get to talk, about guy stuff, he is on a different level with me now, he's a "WORKING MAN!". So I'll enjoy these car rides, till he ships out, cuz this is it, no more son in our home after October, so I'll just enjoy.
June 21, 20223 yr Geeze, how old does he have to be for a d/l? He's your youngest, right? Will you guys be empty nesters (except for the pup) come October? I know you and the wife will commit to memory every precious minute of your remaing time with him.
June 21, 20223 yr Popular Post Sounds like you have just upped your game a notch. I have one in his forties and still at home but he has bought some land and plans to build in a few years. It is nice to have help at home too but will be glad to get him on his own.
